QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jan 23 2018, 07:17 PM) Oh really.. That's new thingy done.. Normally they give some time.. Like stated above.... Not on the closing date.. From my point of view, I'd say it is better as it is high likely that there will be ads about this ETF and a one page prospectus highlighting about the sale of the ETF. So to have a public application on the new date, will mean that these people investing are serious about this. Like any other ETFs, I will be skipping as I can choose to invest the US ETF market in a more broader manner like SPY, QQQ and IWM. But this ETF in Malaysia is also great in a sense that one can invest the US market without leaving Bursa Malaysia (overseas trading) or subjected to reduction in time value as the hot market maintains their momentum (S&P 500 structured warrants).

The problem of ETP locally is liquidity. Without liquidity, retail investors won't interested. While fund managers unlikely to participate in ETF. You put in one fund and expect fund manager to invest directly in the market on behalf, but then fund manager goes to market to buy another fund (ETF)? Sound odd. No liquidity, little movement, it becomes no thrill already, and here people like "thrill" stocks, just like HY recently, got so many "fans" on stocks after the wild ride.

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Feb 10 2018, 12:04 PM) One reason why Public Mutual is still going strong even with so so funds performance 🙏 Have some with them. One thing I dislike about UT is that, fund managers, regardless win or lose, they take a portion of your money (management fee). Some funds are subjected to performance fees which okay, fair enough if you really beat the bellweather index. Problem is what if you that particular year is loss or breakeven but still technically end the year at a loss as a result of UTs taking as management fee?

Fund performed or not.. Management fee must collect first.. Its their main thing.. Next is to sign up / take up the fund first.... That's why u see the PBB as whole don't make losses 😎
