Custom built PC has always been much cheaper, more powerful, more flexible/adapter/customizable/etc than Mac. It was the same 10 years ago, it is the same now.

(Although briefly the 5k iMac was cheaper than the sum of parts in PC equivalent.... Because we occasionally get a bone or two back from Apple 😀)

Mac OS has a stronger eco system between the iPhone, iPad and Mac. If you can use those, or learn to use those, you will see how many mac os x became life long supporters.

Mac OS feels like a more refined OS. Less likely to have problems of viruses and bugs. Yes, it is not guaranteed but less likely compared to competition.

Macbook also hold strong resell value due to the same reason above. For a reason. Second hand prices are driven by market demand.

There are always workarounds to problems if you research hard enough. I find mac os x to be much easier to use without the hassle of workarounds, hence my 10 years of support of their products even if they are on the higher end of the scale.

Rendering video depends on your video output and the MBA (processor) itself.
You'll have to mange your expectation since its an integrated graphics
