if you find this PC have some important data or P&C data before which you might forgot pls reformat is the best else you may refresh

change the hard disk.

perform low level format, don't quick format. otherwise, the data can be recover.

or better just sell without the hard drive.

Wipe your hard disk using DBAN or CCleaner then install windows back so buyer cannot restore your data,

delete the partition, then reformat and install back windows, it should be nothing left for normal people to trace it, unless you are a politician.

Note that you might have important data in it such as bank statements, receipts or emails from desktop email clients (very popular if the PC is used in a workplace).

A regular reformat would be a very bad idea as this will allow people to recover data by means of commercially available software. The data extracted can be used for identity theft or even fraud icon_idea.gif

Use a disk-wiping utility such as DBAN to securely erase data before selling it. icon_idea.gif

This is particularly important in businesses as decommissioned PCs can lead to potentially data breaches or even leaks, even though the hard drive has been formatted icon_idea.gif
