well i think ahem kits are made for pros or expert level of moding
for me i rather spend extra 50% of the cost for the original to avoid lot of mess and time then end up ahem kit which doesn't even last long or even break after full completed assemble ..
well if ahem kits are good for spare part but other than tat is simply waste of money and time for it kits for beginer gunpla ^.^

Well other than those qualities (clear, 90% similarly or clearer molding) I know nothing beats Bandai qualities plastic. Mostly I use those parts for testing or kit bash purpose only. But definitely those brands other than Bandai can’t keep it long due to it really easily to break overtime.

QUOTE(Jetpeh @ Jan 1 2010, 03:42 PM) Guys, Just a bit side track. Other than "alternative" to Bandai Gundams is there any other alternatives to Bandai's Macross or other brands like Kotobukiya and others? As i know there are some knock offs for macross ie arii. Anyone care to share? well i think macross have several official licensing for others than bandai. for example. Yamato, arii and hasegawa. Those are not knock offs kits but they have their own prespective license to produce them.

i wonder if TT or other brand will ever cameout HGUC unicorn series. I love to get some for some spare part moding. for me i don't really matter if the plastic was cheap or not even and etc because I just want the shape of the part and it part it self for my own experiment. hmm I curious about how it will effect the fake/ pirate toy in local malaysia as now they are implementing the sirim already. Do they approve sirim in fake toys as well? and will the price will be eventually increase even after approved?

then this will be a problem and disadvantage to china branded toys already. Despise not only it increase prices but also their product are now much harder and longer to get and not only that their price already almost par range of the original product since it increase prices.
