is any1 go to megamall penang to buy TT PG WING??? IT just sold today

Hi there... I'm quite new in this forum... I stumbled into this forum when I was googling for TT Hong Li Gundams... I used to collect Bandai Gundam back in the 90's starting with Gundam Wing... But now, since I've been collecting Transformers' toys, collecting Bandai Gundams could be such a burden to my pocket... So, I decided to buy TT Hong Li's. 50% cheaper and 90% same quality...

I already have a few of the fake Gundams in my possession: TT Exia (90% like the original), TT Murasame (same as Exia), LWDragon Vayeate (Love the glossy effect that all the other Bandai Wing doesn't have) and GD PG Wing Zero Custom (Not that perfect but, easily my favourite model ever...)

While browsing this thread, I stumbled upon selsonliew's comment... I dunno if the PG Wing that I bought is the same one that you mentioned... It has blue box overall rite? The one that I bought is GD PG Wing Zero Custom 1/100 scale... Here's some of the pics...

I don't have any complaints for this model... It's hard to find (Pearl coating, man... this one is actually the limited edition one...), not that hard to assemble (a few super glue here and there... minor flaw) and you get such a beautiful figure... Worth the money.... I dunno how much the Bandai one cost... But spending RM98 for such quality is quite worth it...

P/S: Assembling this sucker can post a real challenge to novice modeller... The plastic could easily break... So, proceed with extra cautious, everybody... Know your skills before buying any one of the TT Hong Li gunpla.. I'm gonna go to megamall tomorrow to get either 1/100 or 1/144 Akatsuki (whichever available)...

juz curious... do they come with stickers or 'decals'? though wouldn't bet on it...
*
Yes, they do come withstickers and decals... I bought TT Hong li's Murasame Gundam and it comes with 2 sorts of decals and stickers... One which is transparent and the other one is the stickers that sticks to the body...Just like the original...
I didn't buy the akatsuki coz the price is quite expensive (RM 108 for 1/100)... So I bought TT's Gundam Destiny and LWDragon's Astray Blue Frame (both 1/144) for only RM50 for both...

Just completed Blue Frame (quality not so nice.... feels like cheap plastic but the joints are all intact and good... So... Worth the price... Only RM19.90 at Megamall Penang).. Haven't have the time to finsh up Gundam Destiny... I'll post of all my fake Gundams later when I have the time...

hey guys, if any of u found TT Hongli MG Unicorn or Strike Freedom, lemme know smile.gif

Just go to Megamall Penang (Pacific)... There's a shop at level 3 that sells TT Hong Li, GD and LWDragon brand. MG Unicorn is displayed on their counter. And there are a lot of Strike Freedom sold there... Can't remember the brand but from my observation, I think they have it in all grades and scales. I nearly bought 1/100 Strike Freedom last week. The price is RM59 if I'm not mistaken... Legend Gundam is sold at 39.90 (after discount)

tons of em, all bad quality, with chinese names, easy to recog, they dun have bandai tag, ori names, and box quality bad.. oh... price is half.. i bought two fake "gundams" back in 2007. looks like the Zaku Warrior and strike freedom, scale 1/144.

uber lame..

Maybe you bought the "Bendi" or "LWDragon" ones.. As far as I know, most of the TT Hong Li brands have similar quality with Bandai... The only flaw is the stickers... The joints are great and not loose at all (I haven't bought one with loose joints so far) Even if the joints are loose, it still can be fixed... Just put some super glue on the joints and let it dry...

P/S: Anyone who's interested in buying TT Hong Li's 1/60 Perfect Grade Gundam Wing 0 Custom or MG Gundam Unikorn, head to Megamall Penang... The shop on the ground floor (near HK Video) has all these and much more...

xelnaga1987, why are u talking about ori gundam? Yes, we know the quality is superior to the TTs, LWDragon...

but the main thing about this topic is the thrill in finding fake gundams which are 1/2 the price of the bandai ones but still have near good quality...

Economic times are not good so fake gundams are becoming attractive...

myself? I try to buy real ones when got good bargain (like at Litt Tak warehouse sale... manage to buy 2 limited gunpla expo gundams for RM80 only...)

anyway, that's just my view. I hunt fake gundams because its cool!

thanks!

Here's my opinion... Why I like TT gundams? I like them because of the flaws... I like the challenge in assembling them... Putting efforts to make them looked original... That is satisfactory on its own...

I haven't posted here before, but I stumbled onto this topic and I thought I could help many people out. There is a new online store that is pretty new by the name of Walter Hobby Store.

http://walterhobby.com/store/

It has a alot of TT Hongli and GHD model kits (though I wouldn't recommend the GHD brands). I've already purchased the 1/100 Silver Akatsuki for $26USD and the 1/100 MG Strike Freedom Full Burst Mode for $27USD. I love them both and they are extremely close to Bandai quality. I've actually done video reviews of both kits to help people out. I also compared both the Bandai and TT Hongli Stirke Freedom to show the differences. Here's a link to my channel if anyone wants to find out about the kits.

TT's Avalanche Exia... IMO, the Bao bao one is better than the original... I read a few comments on the web saying that the original Avalanche has issue... The legs seem to easily spread and its hard to create dynamic poses... TT's Avalanche legs / crouch are much sturdier.. Check it out!!!

I got this after watching Prime92's review on Youtube... Well, Like what he said in the review be careful on the transparents parts coz they WILL NOT fit correctly... Some modification must be done... Mine was broken into two... had to superglued it... But, the overall result is very satisfying...

Is there any site where we can see the latest releases from TT Hongli?

For Penang TT Hongli hobbyists, was over at Prai over the weekend. Went to Megamal and saw quite a number of shops.

1. opposite the giordano shop ground floor, only 3 sets lwdragon.
2. 1st floor in front of the escalator coming up from Giordano. A lot of models seems the owner is into gunpla as well. A lot of GHD and TT Hongli. Price for a HG was RM 24.90 and MG kits like unicorn was at RM 180.00. A bit pricey

3. 2nd floor opposite popular bookstore, the shop featured on the blog before. HG at RM 29.90 but MG kits vary about Rm 120.00. Saw some PG at RM 330.00 Lots of models some of the new releases which have not even seen in chowkit. Kits are from Lwdragon, tt hongli and GHD

4. outside megamall there was a wholesaler near the motorcycle shop megabike. TT hongli and Lw dragon. Saw a lot of unicorn. HG kits at Rm 20.00

went to chai leng park but could not find the wholesaler there.
I would say a lot of choices there as there are other than TT hongli, the only thing is a bit scared of the quality as I heard the GHD brand's plastic is not very good quality.
*
Whoaa... there's another wholesaler outside Megamall? This I gotta see... Okay, I'm actually a regular at Legend (no. 3)... Here's my tips if you guys ever wanna buy the kits there... If you wanna bargain for the price, always try to bargain with the taukeh, not the leng lui and the leng chai there... However, the taukeh is not always around, but his wife (I think so) is always at the bookshop near Popular... So, if you couldn't get a good bargain from the workers, you can always go the wife (She's the tall lanky lady with spectacles) at the bookshop and beg for discounts... Well, they actually provide discounts for 1/144 HG models if you buy two or more... And there are variety of discounts on NG n MG 1/100 as well... As far as I can remember, 1/100 Strike Noir n Silver Akatsuki i always on discounts... 10% that is...

Added on January 11, 2010, 3:09 pmHere's TT Hong Li's GNX-III that I bought recently... I think this dude looks better without the stickers on its leg armour... Surprisingly, the stickers for this model are quite good and cut well... But, still the quality of the stickers are not as good as Bandai...

And here's my LWD's Blue Frame 2nd L that I bought at Amcorp Mall for only RM35.00...

Achol,

How is the quality for LWD? Saw quite a number in Megamall, still hesitating to buy bcoz not sure of quality

LWD? Quality? They are not meant to be said in the same line... For me, LWD's plastic is the worst in quality, that's why it is sold very cheap... 1/100 are sold below RM50... If u wanna buy bootlegs, go for TT... However, if u can't afford to buy TT, LWD is good enough... Good for customisation... yes, I do agree that the stickers doesn't stick... That's what happened to my 2nd L... that's why the face looked weird... The stickers seem to peel off by itself... Another thing, if u buy LWD or GHD, be sure that u prepare yourself with superglue n all those modification items... Coz u will really need to fully utilise them... Conclusion: Buy TT... GHD n LWD will give you headache... Hahahha... But, for me, I really love THAT challenge...

Is there any other pasar malam seller other than Chong in Penang? It would be good to have price comparisons.
You guys always speak about this Chong guy... Where's his shop situated?? I'm going to Penang this Sunday... So, maybe I'll try to find his shop...
