QUOTE(cyc85 @ Oct 23 2007, 07:18 PM) If you didnt port forward ur bitcomet sure download very slow...mayb only 2 or 3 KB/s....if your port forward and got many seeder then you can get 50 - 70 KB/s.... I think every version also can download the torrent...mayb you need to wait abit longer to get a higher speed.... I waited for 7 hours liao. After testing several torrent clients, I settled on utorrent which has the best result which range from 0.1KB to 1.6KB. utorrent is the only client I did port forwarding for because it's a necessary step for it work properly. I use to be able to get up to 20 or 30KB for bitcomet without portforwarding, so, I didn't do portforwarding for it. But that's a long time ago. Is there one client started with 'M'? I heard that it also can bypass Streamyx throttle.

Nope. I didn't try HK movies. The one I'm trying to download is a very old Taiwan series.
I'm using uTorrent now because it at least works. The Peers is 2(12).
Also, I'm quite mad now. I did say my max speed is around 1.6KB/s. I manage to get up to 2.4 today for a short while. It fluctuates. But now, I find that the upload speed is 19kb/s while my download speed is 0kb/s. There is currently only 1 peer connected. I wonder why like this. Does this particular peer set his client to only download but not upload?
This peer is using Azureus. It's from pool-71-177-171-191.Isanca.fios.verizon.net
I waited awhile longer and stop and start my task again. Now, I got 4 peer, but all my upload speed are only for the above peer. The other 3 peers has 0kb/s for upload and download. Why is it like this? Anyone can explain. Why this one peer can get so high download speed (and zero upload speed)?
Update: The above peer upload as lessen to 5kb/s.
Kinda strange. Is that because that peer don't have the parts I want, so, his/her upload is 0kb/s?

Thanks. I'm not relying on Xunlei. I'm just trying Xunlei again because of how good you guys say it is. All along I'm using utorrent to download this file (which has the best result of the 4 clients I tried). QUOTE For yr case just 2peers what speed u expect yr peer to upload to u ?Full speed? I thank you very much again for your advice, but what do you mean by this sarcastic remark? Did I ever say I want full speed? Did I lament that my peers didn't give me 100kb/s? If I alone can upload 22kb/s to that sigle peer, is it too much to expect just >0kb/s from these 2 peers? My expectation isn't high. Even if I got 2kb/s, I will be happy liao. I just don't understand why my upload is high but download is ~0, that's why I ask. Is that too much? This post has been edited by minevra: Oct 24 2007, 08:35 AM

QUOTE(linkinpark @ Oct 24 2007, 03:48 PM) Sorry maybe tht question lead u to a misunderstanding. If u go through the utorrent forum speed problem thread the mod there will give u an simple answer "Yr bt might be throttle by yr ISP" or "the peer u connecting were being throttle by their ISP". » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Comcast Corp said on Monday that file transfers on peer-to-peer networks such as BitTorrent may be delayed by bandwidth management technology, but it denied blocking access to any applications or content. As the second-largest high-speed Internet provider in the United States with 11 million customers, any move by Comcast to favor or block certain types of content moving over its network would be extremely controversial as it would be seen as flouting 'net neutrality.'
Net Neutrality is the principle of allowing all content that flows over an Internet service provider's (ISP) network to be treated equally without any preference. Although it is not law, it is supported by a wide range of pressure groups and businesses concerned that ISPs will start charging to prioritize the delivery of users content. The Associated Press reported over the weekend that it had carried out experiments across the country proving that Comcast prevented some users from uploading content to peer-to-peer networks, including BitTorrent. Such networks are used by consumers to share large quantities of files such as music, videos and photographs.
Thanks for the explanation and sorry for my overeaction. Now, I mange to get between 1~3Kb/s. So, I'll leave it at that. It will take days to download the 2 files, but better than none.
