HYDRAULIC SHOCK ABSORBER
■ Oil Seal

The special oil seal, made of oil and wear-resistant high quality synthetic rubber, having high sealing efficiency to keep vital oil and gas in and dirt out of the cylinder.

■ Rod Guide

The sintered iron rod guide with a PTFE-bushed sliding surface, assures smooth rod action with minimal resistance and wear.

Piston Rod

The piston rod, larger in diameter to increase the strength, is hard-chrome plated, induction hardening , and fine polished for greater resistance to corrosion, thus, assuring of smooth action.

Absorber Oil

Tokico's absorber oil with constant viscosity, blended with chemical additives provide optimum operating performance keeping its efficiency, in any weather conditions.

Pressure Tube

The pressure tube, with a precision sliding surface mirror-like finish is designed to withstand tremendous internal working pressures, thus, providing greater reliability.

■ Piston Valve

Tokico's unique automatic control rebound disc valve, which automatically adjusts to all ride conditions, is designed to assure maximum performance and smooth ride control.It also provides instant response for full performance without any time lag.

■ Bottom Valve

Tokico's compression disc valve, which provides excellent performance, has automatic control actions similar to the rebound piston disc valve.

From rags to riches: Founder of Boon Siew Sdn Bhd Tan Sri Loh Boon Siew (left) worked his way up from a mechanic to a motor tycoon as Malaysia’s distributor of Honda motorcycles and cars.Here he was with Honda Motor Co Ltd, Japan, founder Soichiro Honda.

His roaring success in marketing Honda motorcycles and later motorcars won him the title “Mr Honda of Malaysia”. Meanwhile, Boon Siew went on to set up other businesses through his investment company, Oriental Holdings. He also bought land and properties. By early 1990s, he became the biggest landowner in Penang and possibly owned half of Langkawi island.

In managing companies, Boon Siew was known to be extremely strict with accounting. He told this writer: “I can use my money to personally treat you to a meal of several hundred ringgit, but in company accounts, every sen must be accounted for.”

Before his death in February 1995, Boon Siew’s interests had spanned from the manufacture and sale of Honda vehicles, making of automotive parts and building materials to property development, hotels and resorts, plantation, plastics – locally and overseas.
