Hi all,
I’m newbie on this therefore hope that all of u can share experience. Normally when it come to telcos I always go for the big 3 but since I’ll pass the prepaid to my daughter, therefore would to try out other telcos

So I’m comparing tune vs umobile vs redone vs xox vs yoodoo in terms of connectivity, stability & prepaid benefits.

So far I heard a lot of complaints from customers bout umobile but not the rest therefore would like to know others as well.

Appreciate your feedback yah

I just done porting of my mom's Hotlink to this new OneXOX Black . Took the B10 RM 10 plan since she only needs 1GB just to Whatsapp outside the house.
Initially wanted to go for Redone RM 8 plan but quite difficult to locate its dealer so I decided to port into this OneXOX.

Speaking about UMobile, it depends on area, but where I am staying right now in Subang Jaya (only my area where I am staying), the download speed is horrible. Even Youtube 240P can buffer very frequently. But other places is okay. So if you want to Cuba Try Umobile, better try their 1 week trial or buy a prepaid or see if any of your friend are on UMobile.

Im also using TuneTalk for myself. Which is also MVNO under Celcom. In fact so far I am generally satisfied with Celcom. In fact download speed for Celcom where I am staying , is way faster than crappy 4G Umobile, even in just 3G mode (for Celcom).

So for my Umobile port out, still contemplating either port in to YooDoo (since I need lots of Data) or Digi. Or Celcom Gold plan. Maxis? Too expensive.

Depending on your mum's usage, XOX Black might be a better choice for your mum compared to redONE because you can carry forward unused data and minutes from the B10 plan, although it's RM2 extra from redONE's RM8 plan.

If you never experience Digi's network for a long time or never try before, perhaps you can consider try it. And how much GBs you need per month? And what's your budget?
If you're not sure, you can check your data usage in your phone. Example: Settings>Data usage  OR  Settings>Wireless and Internet>Data usage

Yeah. luckily I discovered ONEXOX. for a mere Rm 2 extra is worth it. able to carry forward data plus 20 mins of talk time which I doubt she will hardly use either one - Because home already got Unifi plus free 600 mins talktime from Unifi.
Reason I change is because she is fed up of reloading up just to keep her Hotlink validity active and after a while she stop reloading ; she don't even subscribe to any data plan just to drain off excess credit and hardly make calls.

So this ONEXOX 1gb plan will be sufficient. She don't even know how to use Youtube (but Fb, yes. one in a while)
First time I told her I will change to ONEXOX she was like "Ha? What company is this ah? I never heard before. Maxis Celcom Digi I got hear before la". Haha.

Okay regarding about myself and Umobile - Yes my wife is using Digi. so I sometimes borrow her phone just to YouTube and I'm quite satisfied with the YouTube speed.

I'm using Umobile Hero P80 as the home MIFI. Yes. I don't have and don't intend to install fibre Internet for my own house. Seeing my Umobile bill alone, an average we clock around 30-40gb, I frequently check Umobile app for the data usage.
Half of that is for YouTube.

My budget is around Rm 80 per month. Cheaper would be appreciated since I am looking at various plans.

U Mobile P79 plan has Video-Onz, where all video streaming usage will cap at 1.5Mbps, sufficient for 480p streaming only.

You can consider the Digi postpaid RM80/month plan here: https://beta.digi.com.my/shop/postpaid-plans#jomstart
But you can only rollover maximum 2GB for this Digi postpaid 80 plan.

If you want to reduce budget, you can consider Digi prepaid biGBonus plans, RM50/month or RM70/month.
https://beta.digi.com.my/shop/prepaid-plans...addons/bigbonus
You can try the RM50 plan first. If you feel like not enough or quota finishes quickly, you can upgrade to RM70 plan anytime you want.
Tip: Now Digi prepaid data plans can bring forward/rollover unused data like XOX Black.
But condition is, you must make sure you have enough credit balance before the auto-renewal take place.
If auto renewal fails due to insufficient credit balance, no rollover for you for that month. No second chance, no dispute.

XOX isn't that "fierce" like Digi prepaid do, but for XOX Black, if you overdue your bill, your line will be suspended, but the 1GB+20 min from B10 will still given to you in the subsequent months, but you can't use it at all until you pay your bill. That's the difference.

Same for both Digi prepaid and XOX Black, you can carry forward and accumulate all unused data until 100GB cap.

Hi Josh,
Yeah I am aware of my P79 has a streaming cap at 1.5MBPs, but imagine my Youtube have buffering sometimes even at 144P. I usually watch at 360P, but now I have to survive on 240P. Its my area which Umobile doesnt excel.
And there was one night I got so upset, I tried my wife's Digi, subscribe to Unlimited Video Freedom Lite. It was day and night differences.
The streaming was much much better in DIGI.
So definitely I will put DIGI into consideration, only thing is either Digi Broadband (yes, Broadband) or Postpaid 80 (which they have promo at the DIGI store now) . Well prepaid can be considered, only comes to the reloading part will be abit of a hassle. Abit biggrin.gif

Okay I'm sorry but we seem to be chatting alot about DIGI and Umobile in a OneXOX Black thread laugh.gif laugh.gif
Hopefully we don't irritate others . nod.gif

Coming back to my experience with OneXOX Black, so far its been running fine, except that if happen there is no 4G signal for a moment and fallback to 3G , data wont run. And that's whats happening inside my parent's home. But of course they still have the UNIFI , which the phone will switch between WIFI and Data. I still believe in Celcom's coverage and nothing is 100% perfect.
My Mom is using a Xiaomi phone, and it only has 2G, Preffered 3G or Preferred 4G. Its left on 4G option.
its been Day 2, and so far my mom hasn't come and complain . Probably don't realize either. *shhhh* whistling.gif laugh.gif
