My dad is looking to buy a truck to carry his bicycles. He has set his mind on the Nissan Navara 2.5 VL. Advisable to buy new or used? This won't be his daily driver.

RM124k for the highest spec. With RM10k discount, roughly around RM114k.

Used market would be around RM86k with 50k km.

Any advise?

UPDATE: Went for the new navara np300. Top spec VL model. Black colour.

You can fit a bicycle into a decent SUV or wagon, which subsequently can be drive daily.

Why you need a truck for that lol

Yes. Avoid the 4x4 version. If sensor kaput, will expensive to repair.

Navara using an electronic sensor to switch between 4x4 or 4x2. Very sensitive to shocks and water. Had the same problem with my previous Navara b4. Other trucks using mechanical level or switch so very reliable. DMax, Triton and Hilux using this old and trusty method.
