http://laptopmag.com/Review/HP-Pavilion-dv...Notebook-PC.htm > HP dv6500t biggrin.gif

Performance from the Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 CPU (married to 2GB of RAM) was very good; the dv6500t scored 3,927 on PCMark05, which is neck and neck with the scores from the Acer TravelMate 6460-6263 and Dell Inspiron E1505. The new integrated Intel GMA X3100 graphics (part of Intel's new Santa Rosa platform) are fine for most mainstream chores and delivered better results on our 3DMark03 tests than the previous dv6000t with integrated graphics. On the other hand, the Windows Experience Index graphics subscore of 3.4 and 3DMark03 showing of 1,726 mean you can forget about serious gaming. Still, the GPU is more than powerful enough to handle all of Vista's eye candy, like the Aero interface's translucent and glass-like effects. - credits : Jamie Bsales, laptopmag.com

Agree. May I know, will the intel x3100 IGP better than the AMD intergrated Nvidia?
*
yes, it is better than nvidia igp.
because:

x3100(Crestline):
pixel shader: 8
vertex shader: 1
core speed: 667

while...

go6100(C51MV):
pixel shader: 2
vertex shader: 1
core speed: 425

to add more, the new processor of intel is much more better than amd. that certainly boost the intel new igp of course.

Hi... I'm looking for a new laptop in a short while. However, I can't make the decision on choosing the brand. Currently, Toshiba M200 (Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 1.8G, 2gb DDR2 Ram, DVD Burner, 14" Widescreen, 1.3 mega pixel Webcam, Wifi, Bluetooth, Finger Print, Intel 965GM 128m.... RM4420.00) is my choice. Is it recommended? My budget is up to RM4.5k. Any others model is recommended? My requirement is nice for entertaiment, smooth, light weight & after sales service is good (warranty). Thanks for help.
*
nice price there, i think should be decent for the new santa rosa. just if you can sacrifice about rm200 more from your max budget , you can try Asus F3SC which come with new nvidia 8400M gpu.

http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=5&l2=...660&modelmenu=2

unless you dont think much about the needed for dedicated 128mb gpu, you can just get that toshiba.

just a suggestion from me.
cheers.

edit: that asus abit heavy than the toshiba due to the size of the screen resolution. 2.95kg ..

^ thats why, need a review from an earlier buyer. not just for that acer, but benq too.

the most probability overheating come for laptop which has small lcd resolution, the slimness and so on.

take a look at acer aspire 14.1" with ati x1600. it's kinda ridiculous to use powerful card for slim, portable notebook.
from your link:

Verdict of Acer Aspire 5920 (Codename : Gemstone)
"It's not the most portable of laptops but the Acer Aspire 5920 is powerful, looks smart and offers a decent collection of features for the price. The new Intel Santa Rosa technology looks to be working well, and the impressive audio quality and generous hard drive help make this a particularly strong entertainment notebook." ~ pcadvisor.co.uk

it's not portable due:
1. battery, not last long, due to screen reso, gpu.
2. bulky, screen reso with 15.4" , 3kg.

i assume and hope that aspire have improve the cooling system.
well, review does proof.

go for it then. nowadays pretty much difficult to find notebook with amd processor + dedicated gpu. you can go for old series of acer ferrari (amd + ati x700 (legendary gpu) ). all notebook being dominated by intel (santa rosa, 945 chipset bla bla)....currently. i hardly heard news about amd chipset for notebook nowadays.

any notebook with dedicated gpu will do + preferable for c2d processor. dont go for gma950/nvidia & ati shared igp.

I am looking for a laptop, any brand
Budget :4600
Important Specs: 2GB RAM & Graphic Card 128MB or higher, (good quality speaker if can)
Usage: Watching Movie, Games, Multitasking
(Mostly I on my laptop for 24hours/day)

Any advice? i should get a laptop before 22nd of June. Thx
*
here some lists:

acer aspire 5920 (dx10 gpu)
hp pavilion dv6205 (go7400 series)
asus a8sc (dx10 gpu)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the above model doesnt come with 2gb ram, but you can add it later. ram nowadays not expensive, should be enough for your budget.

Brand : HP ( I like their customer service ), Sony (2nd hand with warranty), Fujitsu (2nd hand with warranty).
Budget : Around 4k-5k.
Specs : I travel a lot, in the sense that battery life is the priority, and i prefer lightweight ( < 1.8kg).
Size : Less than 14".
I seldom do games, mostly using my laptop for net surfing, presentation, and watching movie.
Any reply will be much appreciated.

Edited: Should i go for PDA?  doh.gif  Coz currently i am using Compaq V32xx, it is damn heavy and it has very weak battery life.  doh.gif

if you want to opt for pda, make sure it suits all your need while you on travelling.
about notebook with superior batt. life, i suggest you vaio g series or vaio tz series. but all of these also have "superior price" sweat.gif

good luck finding!

Brand: any good brand

Budget: around rm3000

Specs:
must be good for gaming.
if possible get Core 2 Duo or anything as good.
1 gig RAM
minimum 40gigs of HDD(i dont really care for HDD space that much)
a good graphics card, should handle Command and Conquer 3 on high setting(note: high is the third highest setting, ultra high is the highest.)
possibly nice moniter. cant see how different moniters can affect me though.
must have dvd RW drive and Cd-rw drive(D'uh)... maybe a combo drive, but i heard those are crappy
bluetooth and card readers are optional

Size: nice and slim... but hey, i dont care if its fat as long as its cheaper...

All in all, i just want a good gaming laptop around rm3000
*
3k budget for gaming laptop with CnC on high setting, only get new igp card from nvidia with amd processor (acer).
for core 2 duo , mostly on intel igp or ati hd2300 (acer). maybe you can try find old series of hp notebook with nvidia go 7400/7300.

best of all, get a desktop if you really want gaming.
sorry cant help much :<
maybe william or john can guide you better.
