Wait a minute....it isn't released yet?

I thought that the article on the main page said they were already available in Malaysia?

BTW, could anyone recommend me a laptop? Budget, RM2000-3500.
Processor: C2D series.
It must be capable of running Vista *satisfactorily*, and have a dedicated graphics card.
Which brand(s)? Any brand is preferred, just make sure that it's reliable.

Oh, and I don't want the Windows license - knock it off. I'd be perfectly happy with FreeDOS or Linux on it.

I'm going to KL in a few days - so I might as well as look for one there.

AFAIK, it hard to find a C2D proc with dedicated GF within that budget. HP Pavilion 6203TX C2D proc with nVIDIA 7400 is RM5700.
Or try compaq model. AMD turion x2 with nVIDIA 6150. it's a dual core too tongue.gif

Hi,

looking for a note book. would appreciate comment and advice.

Some brand in mind.

Compaq Presario V3308TU
FTEC W2 series

What about Thinkpad R60 & ASUS A8M? A friend recommended ASUS A8M.

Budget - RM2.5k to 3.3k

Spec
Most prob Intel Core Duo or Core 2 Duo.
What's the diff between Core Duo and Core 2 Duo (other then the price)

What abt AMD Turion 64 x 2?

The general rule is, avoid Ftec no matter what your budget is.

Kindly add what will you be using your laptop for, as that might help in choosing which laptop that suits you

Ah. Thanks for all the recommendations, guys.

I'm leaning on the BenQ S73G or R55 - even if I have to increase the budget by RM499 to do it. (RM 299 for the R55, actually)

Unless the Santa Rosa-based laptops come soon....

BTW, I'm in KL from the 3rd till the 8th of June. Gonna look for the laptops then.
