guys... can recomend me a laptop pls?.
-graphics is not a priority, but an added advantage
-sound must b averagely good
-must have media shortcuts
-design should b pleasant to the eye, but a totally sexy design not required..
- preferably a large display screen, 14" or 15.4"
weight and size isnt really a problem
-budget of about 3.5k... the cheaper the better

im currently looking at some hp pavilion models but very open to suggestions, i intend to get a laptop during this coming pc fair and i would like to get some advise and recomendations from every1. thx in advance..

i think compaq might suits u ^ ^

Need some input here
My Gf needs a notebook as she is going oversea to further her studies.
Budget is around RM3750-3999.
There are "requirements and limitation".

Brand : If possible non Acer/BenQ (old man dont like it)
Hardware Requirement :
C2D
1GB of Ram
14inch screen (glossy) (15" seems a little too big for a petite girl)
Integrated Webcam
Bluetooth-capable (additional)

Erm.. if possible.. prefer something that is not too "business look".
One of the best choice is Dell's 1520.

If anyone knows other notebook with similar requirements that i (my gf) has, please do recommend me.

Hi all,

Besides getting a-spec-of-your-dream lappy, isn't that considering the easiness to access their service center should fall into one of a category for choosing a lappy?

I'm gonna buy a lappy in this few days. After all the consideration(budget, price, spec).I'd say i'll go for either Acer or Compaq. Acer's service center is in Berjaya TimeSquare right? Meanwhile Compaq is somewhere near Damansara? If they are compared, is it can say that Acer is much more easier to access to their service center in case something gone wrong with your beloved-lappy?

Looking for opinion from all of you out there ^^.
*
hmm ... did u wish to always go back to the service centre ?
or did u wish to wait for long time to collect ur warranty ?
for me .. i recommend u take compaq ...
coz they are more problems free ..
even thought if u send for warranty .. their service is incredible fast ..
jz take around 3 working days to settle it for u ^ ^

well is still depends on u ^ ^ haha

QUOTE(han @ Aug 24 2007, 01:03 AM)
originally started a new thread but I should've posted it here, sorry.

Hi guys, wondering if some of you can help me here as I've had no experience with NEC notebooks before.
I've been looking at the Toshiba Portege M600-E360 model:

Intel Core 2 Duo T7100
2GB DDR2 RAM (pc fair offer)
120GB HDD
3yrs Intl warranty (also pc fair offer)

RM5,999

Then today I saw the NEC Versa S3300

Intel Core 2 Duo T7500
2GB DDR2 RAM
200GB HDD - but duno which manufacturer
3yrs Intl warranty (offer at 1utama)

RM4,199

Both are 13.3" with Vista Home Premium, battery I'm not exactly sure yet, weight also 1.89kg & 1.96kg respectively.

I always thought NEC was quite high standard, but the price difference seems too big for it to be compared to Toshiba.
Would the NEC be a good buy then? I've not had friends or relatives who have used NEC before so I don't know much about their quality.

Thanks alot, appreciate the help!

NEC claim to be Japan NO.1 brand ^ ^ i think is not bad lar ..
but in malaysia .. quite few dealer carry this model .. n if i not mistake malaysia is kinda hard to find service ^ ^
