Hey people. I also need a reccomendation for a laptop.

My budget maximum is RM4000

I will want to use it for gaming and all the normal stuff

Not really sure wich processor is better. AMD or Intel? Recommend me the better 1 k

I will want my specs to be

1) At least 2 Gigaherts of processor
2)At least 2 GB of memory
3)Hard drive space does not really matter
4)Graphic cards 256 MB
5)International warranty

Is this possible? Reccomend some laptop brands. Thanks!

I dont really noe wich brand to choose actually. I have heard and read too many mixed reviews. Hoped some1 can recomend to me based on experience.

will C2D T5250 (1.5GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB) satisfy the use of watching movie, listening to songs, Uni assignment(programming) & also gaming?

what if it's coupled with a 8600GT?

will there be big difference between

T5250(1.5GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB) vs T7100(1.8GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)

8400GS vs 8600GT

What if T5250 + 8600GT vs T7100 + 8400GS?

TQ.. But nvidia 7150m power not?
*
it's integrated graphics... below 2.5k really hard to get really good dedicated graphics...

but it is sufficient enough to play DoTA, CS n most of those not really graphical games

Not really true. I customized my HP 8510w with the following specs from HP Malaysia:

T7700/QuadroFX 570M/1GB/160GB 7200rpm/WSXGA/DVD-LS/XP/Vista/4965abgn, etc. for RM5827.

All HP business notebooks can be built to order.

how did u customize HP laptop? is there a site to do that?

what do u plan to use ur laptop for...

Dell would easily satisfy ur budget wit those specs... try look at dell inspiron 1420... the most basic configuration for 1420 mainstream could fit all ur required specs... For HP will be a lil hard

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT (256MB DDR2)
OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic
Are the features stated above enough to make up a good gaming laptop?
I am looking for a new laptop. The main use for me is to for my university studies and gaming. Will this laptop suitable for me? I saw this laptop advertisement in today Star. If I am not mistaken, the price for it is around RM3500, still in my budget which is less than RM4000.

Or is there any other nice recommendation?  smile.gif
*
it is indeed a very good machine for gaming purposes + it will fit all the universities work, assignments n else... i'm using 1 exactly like that. just submitted F.E.A.R. fps awhile ago... go check it out. But I would suggest u upgrade the processor to 2.0GHz, it'll still be around 4k

QUOTE(Nervosa @ Dec 20 2007, 11:56 PM)

Dell XPS m1330, it's hot n' u can just configure everything

QUOTE(AlphaBeta @ Dec 21 2007, 12:02 AM)
going to buy laptop..here i some specs i wanted....

-Any brand
-Core 2 Duo(2Ghz or above)
-4mb L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB
-2Gb DDR2 RAM
-Nvidia/ATI graphic card with 128MB or above..
-hard disk and disc drive those any will do...
-budget below RM4200
-size doesnt matter..

any recommendation? thx...
*
for Dell i just notice only their XPS m1330 provide 2GHz + 4mb L2 Cache + 800MHz FSB... others that provide 4mb L2 Cache n' 800MHz FSB comes with 2.4GHz processor which will be a lil off ur budget. But nonetheless take a look at Dell under mainstream n start configuring.

QUOTE(kyoko4eva @ Dec 21 2007, 01:53 AM)
i hav 2 questions

1) let say i've submitted an order today to buy a dell notebook (with promo) and given valid quotation date until next week lets say 28 Dec & promotion period is until 21 Dec, so if i pay after 21 Dec,  is it still valid with promotion items included in my purchase?

2) if yes for 1st question, after 21 Dec , if the next promotion is better can i cancel my previous order and submit a new order under the new promotion?

if yes for both question, isn't this a loophole?
sorry if this questions had been asked b4, coz i suddenly wondered
*
1) it'll require ur credit card number when u make ur order. So u'll pay at that moment
2) if i'm not mistaken, u could cancel ur order.

correct me if i'm wrong... Sorry for any mistakes made

get sumthing integrated i think... if ur going C2D with that budget... ur graphics will most probably is X3100

but if ur going AMD Turion 64 x 2 then u will be able to get integrated Nvidia graphics such as Go 7150, 7000 or 6150

Hi guys...

I am needing a laptop for college use. Erm..not really for gaming purpose.

budget would be about RM1.7k-2.2k
i found this from Dell.. it seems nice..

http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/p...bsd1&l=en&s=bsd

but i wish to get some feed back for Dell's Vostro product.. dunno if it's good

and the processor is AMD Turion dual core 64 x 2 bla bla TL-56.. is it good?
besides Dell.. any other recommendations are welcomed

-----

OR

maybe from garage sales ? eg this

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/282217/+500

i need some helps in this.. can the quality in garage sales be trusted ?
*
try getting Compaq Presario v3614... it comes with AMD Turion 64 x2 1.9GHz

it's ok for ur needs since ur not using it for gaming purpose... try upgrade it to 2GB ram

nope... for dell there is alot of customizable options... u can change here n there to get ur prefered specs... plus Dell is for those that wans spec/price comparison

while HP has better built quality... their built quality can say far better lo... i think their audio is also better

Gosh
I'm totally confused whether choosing Dell , Toshiba , HP etc.
Anyone can give me a good suggestion ?
Budget around RM4.5k
Min 2gb RAM
Strictly no GMA graphic card
Prefer 4mb cache mother board
Less than 3.0kg
*
i'm not sure if u can get dedicated gc with HP or toshiba with 4.5k.... but i'm sure u can get a dedicated gc for 4.5k if going for Dell

budget is 5000, but the as lower "spec per budget" as possible i need, want to save more tongue.gif

for lower spec per budget ratio u might op for Dell, Compaq or Acer

it's easier for us to suggest if u provide us with the requirement specs ur looking for or what kind of work u'll be using it for...

so that we wouldn't suggest integrated graphics for those who r looking for gaming or bulky notebook for ppl who're looking for mobility
