Gemstone is around RM4499...... It's powerful..... too powerful for your needs.
Most laptops don't come with Microsoft Office BTW...... just a trial version...... so you'll have to buy that separately. Same goes with your "chinese software" Check the price lists in the front of www.lowyat.net for the current price of Microsoft Office. |

Not true, because the MacBook is running on the Intel GMA 950.... and the new Santa Rosa versions isn't released on our shores, which is also running an internal graphics card.
If you want the most bang for your buck, get an Acer Gemstone 5920g, BenQ s41 or something similar..... I hear the NEC is turning out well too....much better performance and besides, if you're doing multimedia and all that, you'll be running the Adobe suite, which is the same on both mac and pc.... Imdarren..... if you can take the slight weight and the heat, get the Acer Gemstone........
RM4499 with T7300 Core 2 Duo Processor (2 ghz), nVidia 8600GT with 256MB Ram, 1 Gig of DDR Ram (But most dealers will throw in an extra gig), and a 15" screen...... If you have about RM7000 to spend, get the Asus G1s........ same thing, but much cooler. |

Don't worry mate...... by the time you have your cash saved, alot of the S41 is already on the market.
I really would have gotten the S41 if not for the smaller screen, lower end graphics and processor...... It's still a recommended buy for a portable powerhouse. |

If you can tahan the very slight heating issue, it's perfectly fine......
Like I said in the Gemstone thread, it can handle the most demanding games pretty smoothly.......... and besides, it's all about the pentiums, baby! |

For the Quatro.... yes.... You CAN play games...... but don't expect much options......
The Quatro is mainly used for graphics intensive PROGRAMS rather then games..... like AutoCAD and 3D Max...... rather than Starcraft 2 or Quake Wars......... |

Currently, is there any Laptop with 13" screen, with a decent graphics card, Hopefully Dual Core and in-built camera for *gulp* less then RM3000?
Using it for travelling work and connect to WiFi networks to Skype.... probably LIGHT gaming..... but nothing like Quake or Starcraft 2........ |

How about the BenQ S41? 14.1 Inch, T7100 Processor, 1 Gig of Ram and an nVidia 8600GS Graphics card......
All for RM3999 last I checked, but without an OS........ |
