I had a shocking experience yesterday, while pressing a stiff dough when baking , my thumb suddenly Clawed in grab position and became stiff . It stops there and not coming back to ordinary position. I looked at it and have no control of my own thumb to release it back. It’s like fighting against my will. I took a couple of deep breath when I suddenly in shock. When I took a normal breathing to compose myself back, it released for a while and just few seconds it clawed back. Breathe again , it released. Up to third time, back to normal.
So, what I been facing here guys? Heart issue or high blood pressure? Need to consult a doc today but just for discussion sake. Tq

I think it is not due to your Heart issue or high blood pressure.
It is because of your finger's muscle...long hours of work without resting.

My blood pressure just checked is 146/82 No, I didn’t work long hours, just about the start of day. And it doesn’t occurred back. Could be cramp as suggested.

Could be cramp as suggested. Hopefully that is the case. Your resting BP is slightly on the high side but not extreme. Should do some light exercise and control not eating oily and high cholesterol foods. Otherwise, all is good.

Probably going for a ecg test. May I ask if those ecg test by BPLab call resting ecg test is a good check for cardiology ? Because I saw another package call threadmill test. Not sure if they are proper enough to warn a person of strokes?

Yes the standard resting ECG test is sufficient but it wouldn't hurt to perform the treadmill stress test if you can afford it.

Most probably muscle cramp. Repeat the activity again and when you feel cramp, run cool water over your hand till relax.

QUOTE(missysleepy @ Jan 18 2018, 05:56 PM) OR could it be nerve connected to heart. Sign of hypertension? or it could be you being totally wrong. that blood pressure could be a false reading or stress or isolated systolic hypertension.........either way........need more readings to confirm.
