Tough. Statistics are available at MPM websites which show that percentage of candidates who got Band 6 is always around 0.2% or less.
It's possible, but not probable. Band 5 is usually enough. After all it isn't like MUET is very widely recognised. This statistics Here is for the year 2016. For March 2016, while for each paper the number of people scoring Band 6 is a bit bright, only 0.05% of people of 58,093 candidates got a Band 6 for the overall paper. You can get more on MPM website. This post has been edited by Just Visiting By: Jan 16 2018, 08:50 PM |

MUET is tough, much tougher than the IELTS/TOEFL sample papers I have tried.I was thinking to take IELTS since MUET is only acceptable in Msia but yeah just give it a try Have you taken MUET before? From all things I have heard and from my friends who have sat for both, I can say MUET is definitely tougher. The only tough part in IELTS is probably the time allocated, but MUET also has very difficult time limit imposed. And MUET is damn boring. The comprehension questions and paragraphs have an incredible soporific effect that could doze you off. |

QUOTE(CyberSetan @ Jan 16 2018, 10:06 PM) It is possible. Not easy, but possible. When was your time when you're taking that test? During my time in form 6... only 1 person managed to get Band 6 out of 100+ STPM students... Some students even said IELTS/TOEFL was far easier than MUET... Did get band 6 too? |

QUOTE(UmmuNajihah @ Jan 16 2018, 10:59 PM) Hmm, that's weird. Nope. Test fee is not correlated with the difficulty. MUET is tougher than IELTS for me. I took both papers. 3 times taking MUET and always a band 4 for me. Took IELTS once, and I scored band 8.0 without attending any classes. MUET should be easier than IELTS but when I look at the test fee, IELTS is more expensive For me the Speaking test in MUET is very unpredictable. They don't actually test your fluency but rather your arguments and some questions presented is quite weird (for me I guess). There was one time I had to argue on which household item is the best and I got an iron. Their speaking test also relies on your team mates, if they face difficulty to present their opinions, you can't create a dynamic interaction between everybody. |
