QUOTE(ate @ Jan 15 2018, 05:27 PM) if load to much it wont dry properly and combi takes more time then a standalone dryer. Every dryer have the limit mark on the side door. You cannot load it full. Otherwise it cannot tumbler the cloth and dry properly. It is not the combi problem.

QUOTE(Zot @ Jan 15 2018, 05:35 PM) Drying load is normally less than washing capacity. So, if you want to straight dry after wash, you cannot wash full load People said don't put all eggs in one washing machine.. Yup, correct. Combi normally got state like 10kg wash and 6kg dryer. Even standalone dryer don't allow full load.

QUOTE(MarioKart @ Jan 15 2018, 05:59 PM) Dual core vs Single Core. Onr machine can continue to wash while the other one dry. Besides i heard combi dont work well or spoil fast. Combi for small family. Many user, than not suitable. Pro : I can wash and dry in 1 go. Without manual intervention. Been using for 8yrs. Nothing wrong with it.

QUOTE(BS8110 @ Jan 15 2018, 06:09 PM) Worth to buy if: - House have limited area to hang clothes to dry - House have limited exposure to sunlight, so take long time to dry in normal way - High turn around for clothing (lots of clothing to wash and dry everytime especially baby napkins or big family) Other than that, can live without. Also got dryer at home but very seldom use. Best to buy standalone unit (not combi). If got faulty, just dryer is out but not both. Sun is still my priority. Dryer come in handy when raining season and dryer comforter. That is like every 3month out of a yrs usage. Still worth to buy.

QUOTE(idoblu @ Jan 15 2018, 06:15 PM) Nope. No change. Maybe even better. Nowadays I’m paying less than 200 linggit but could be due to my absence and cold weather. QUOTE(Zot @ Jan 16 2018, 08:16 AM) You cannot presumed that people who said dryers suck do not own a house. People who praised the dryers maybe the people who live in an apartment with limited place to dry clothes. Who said the dryers won't shrink the clothes. Even drying clothes under the sun also will shrink the clothes but the dryers will shrink them more. It is even warned on original Levi's jean. Shrinking is common on cotton clothing (100% especially) and not on synthetic fabrics. Depends on dryer function but many new dryers tend to be on permanent press mode. Therefore, synthetic clothing and even 80% cotton will not wrinkle. So, may need no ironing. It is the same thing drying under the sun, if you know how. Cannot blame the dryer but the idiot using. Cloth normally come with the label how you can wash, dry and iron. You ignore it, your problem. Dryer have normal and Low temperature mode. Lower temp but longer time will reduce the shrink.

QUOTE(Zot @ Jan 16 2018, 09:53 AM) Some have mode call Permanent Press. What is does is actually cooling off the temperature gradually as the dryer approaches end of cycle. This way your clothes will not wrinkle. Same as if you dry under the sun. If you leave it until too dry, it will be wrinkled and hard to straightened up even with ironing. Remove your clothes as soon as it dry with some humidity (Humid, not still wet) Wrinkle is cause by the cloth crumble together when it wet and in the proses of drying. It will form the wrinkle after dry. Cause dry cloth if stiffer than wet cloth. So why you have to take out the cloth after dry. Cause the cloth won't crumble together when it still soft. Cloth trumbling in the dryer won't get wrinkle easily as there is a space for the cloth to move. Unless overload it. My combi will keep on turning with the heater off after finish drying run. So the cloth won't be wrinkle if I don't take it out. I don't have to rush back to home just for take out the cloth.

QUOTE(MeToo @ Aug 22 2019, 04:25 PM) you wanna run the sun once a while. it helps kills molds/etc ... the sun is a beautiful thing My unit is combo. Sometimes the comforter doesn't dry thoroughly under the sun. You can feel the cotton fabric is dry. But not inner. So after a month and rotate use again, smell the mold. Nowaday, after under the sun, I will put in the dryer to spin again.

QUOTE(MeToo @ Aug 22 2019, 04:52 PM) Now i'm not sure whether i need a 8kg dryer or 9kg dryer... to pair with my 9kg front load washer... I understand the weight is for when our clothing is dry... so a 9kg washer should theoractically be paired with a 9kg dryer IF it always run full load... But the 9kg dryer is running nearly $2k more then the 8kg ones Put the sun pirioty 1st la. As long as the comforther can put in, good enough. My combo dryer is 7kg only. But hard to follow 7kg. I follow the mark on the side which is 1/2 of the drum load. Over that mark, the drying is long and not properly.

QUOTE(unknown_2 @ Aug 22 2019, 04:50 PM) dryer very handy, but very expensive to operate. Not really. My bill hardly find the dryer operating cost in it. New technology dryer save the bill. Don't buy old tech dryer to save. Your bill doesn't save.
