How long you normally have to wait for this xmax? Say all is good. and kedai got no stock, have to order.

Usually at least 1 month. It's the same as all the hot Yamaha models (NVX, Y15V2, R15, etc.) but depends on the store you're buying from. Some of them have higher priority than others.

You didn't see much on the road not because not popular but because the price is more expensive.. LOL
XMax cost twice than NVX or Y15

Yup, pretty much this. It's considered a big bike/maxi scoot. But for all the technologies that it packs (switchable traction control and dual channel ABS), it's the cheapest of the bunch.

I just recently know about this. Previously i thought, wherever you can buy NVX/NMAX, you can also buy XMAX there.  tongue.gif
I'm on week 6 currently. They said production problem. Believable? Or just another standard answer when they can't fulfill.
I also notice whenever you call some shop, and ask for cash price. They straight away said, got 1 stock, come today. Another standard answer i guess.

These shop owners are ultimately businessmen, and Yamaha also running a business. These 'production problems' are basically a reason for some of them to drive up the OTR price or straight up decline cash payment so that you have to pay loan price.

In my case, I originally wanted to get NVX. Waited one and a half months still no stock. Ended up getting a NMAX that was available there. My friend who got MT-09 also had to wait nearly 2 months to get his bike.

Next time, I'm getting a Honda or Kawi bike. Less hassle, just trade in and bike is out within days or a week at most. Most places have ready stock too.

Apologies for the rant, but trying to get a Yamaha scooter was one of the worst times I've had making a purchase. sweat.gif

This time when they call asking me to come down that loan has been approved. I thought it going to be another smooth experience. I went there and settle the dp and assured that i should get it within a week. Now, next week is Raya, no motor no duit raya.

Sounds almost exactly like what happened to my friend with his MT09. He paid cash on top of that.

Hope you get your bike soon bro.

Got mine after almost 3 months, from the display price tag, looks like it was from another shop and also not the color i ordered though.

That's Yamaha popularity for you. I hope you've been enjoying your new machine though.

I'm almost due for 1st service, where do usually people go, back to shop they purchased it, or got somewhere famous for scooters?
*
Probably best to take it to a Yamaha Star Shop. Check HLY's website for the nearest ones. One of the most famous now is Takong Racing due to the Youtuber Bob Yp.

In my experience, the official Yamaha Service Centres are more thorough with their service. They actually follow the manual to some degree (checking your controls, if the forks are leaking and any other sign of damage) and they ride your bike after they service it to test it first.

On the other hand, most bengkel will just change your oil and then hand you back the bike.

How much will it cost for servicing XMAX?
*
I don't own an XMAX so I can't answer that. Only had an NMAX before. You can give them a call and ask though. It'll be more than regular bengkel for sure.

First two services shouldn't be so bad because of the free labor coupons, but after that you're looking at anywhere from RM 20~50 more. Some of these big service centres don't even allow you to bring your own oil (I know Takong does not allow this as they have a sign stating this at the entrance of their bengkel area).

Saw new NMAX model going around on trade number plate in Sungai Buloh. I guess HLY is testing the new NMAX before launching it. The front headlights look like XMAX ones.

Thanks for the heads up. Interesting news. thumbsup.gif

Sounds legit because that's exactly what the leaked patent renders of the new NMAX look like. Can search Yamaha NMAX 2020 on Google Images. The tail light also resembles XMAX.
