If I'm some kind of rich people, I don't mind taking either 4gb RAM or 6gb RAM. Why? Because when new smartphone with latest tech has been launch, I will sell mine/give to family or friend/play with custom rom on it , and after that I'll purchase new smartphone for my usage. 4gb or 6gb or 8gb RAM won't actually mean anything if I use it for short term, only to satisfy the desire to have smooth sailing experience (although the difference is too little) and the eagerness to have the latest tech in hand.

But since I'm not that rich, I'll choose 4gb RAM. Why ? 6gb RAM for me is overkill right now. What I'm going to do with the extra RAM as my usage doesn't change so much since 2gb RAM era ? I got a good lappy to handle the sorts of heavier task which is more convenient than using a smartphone. And OEM such as SSS, AAA, XMX will try to bloated the RAM usage as can as possible the more the RAM a device got is. Unused/Unusable RAM by end user is wasted RAM/liability, which literally means I'll waste hundreds Ringgit for something I will not / cannot use. Better for me to spend my extra money for something benefitable for my /my family future life instead of spending it all on something that is too easy become obsolete within 1.5- 2 years.

BTW, RAM isn't the only I'll look into as any number more than 2 is sufficient enough to handle my daily task. Battery longevity, after sale service and support, software optimization, internal storage ( the more the storage, the merrier it is 😀), OTG and other peripherals support, micro SD card support, camera, additional security measurement, budget and etc helps me to determine my choice.

P.S : Iphone with 2gb and 3 gb RAM can work smoothly what, no sudden close, minimal lag that can be ignore.

You need more RAM but you rarely run apps on background ?!

I'm confused . Why you need more RAM if every apps you opened you will exit it properly ?

This, I agree. Battery longevity is important as well, for me.
