Hi everyone.
I just finish my STPM exam and wondering to get a job in Genting for gaining myself some others working experience.
With my qualification now, there is not much job in Genting that I can apply,do you guys have any suggestion for me? Is there any others position that I can apply other than croupier? Don't really like to be a croupier...

Go to http://www.rwgenting.com/career/default.htm and click on "Join Us Now" button.
There is a list of vacanies available there. You can apply it online by depositing your resume from the website provided above. It may take for at least a month (or more) then only you will feedback from them (if you are in their shortlisted list). My advise is, while apply for this, try to hunt for other jobs as well.

If you like the life in Genting (all activities are there, besides cold weather), then you try it out and see whether you like it or not. Good luck then.

Perhaps now and later is peak/super-peak season (X'mas, New Year, CNY)... so I think they need a batch of people to cater their services, like Food & Beravage (F&B) outlets, Indoor/Outdoor Theme Park and many many other places.

If you wish to earn some GOOD pocket money during holidays, perhaps you can try it out now.

rclxub.gif  It will be quite wasting time to wait for their approval..
What if I just want to earn some GOOD pocket money , like you said , how should I apply for the it?
*
Indeed yes, don't know why it takes such a long time to process (many applications perhaps?)
If you intend to work for a short periods of time, I think croupier or other vacancy is available... many younger kids work there during this season.
Good pocket money (like earlier posts mentioned), double-pay... only available to those who work in Operation Dept.
How to apply ? There is a walk-in (Open) interview every week... can't remember which day is that. You can always call up Genting HR Dept to check on the exact day.

If you wish to take up the challenges, perhaps work in Genting can save up a lots... if you know how to save.
Basically lodge and foods are provided.... of course food is with certain amount per month. As compare to downtown or other places, definitely you have saved some already.

hi, all.
I was invited an interview as I.T executive - Application Support by eGenting on 17-Dec. I was interviewed by A.M of I.T Department and Manager of I.T Department.
After 1 week, i have sent a Thank You email to the A.M and also asked bout my interview status. He replied me that is still few candidates will be interview since the close date is 29-Dec. The result only know in 1st week of Jan.
May i know any way i can use for let me know status more faster?

Thanks.

If you are to base on Genting Highland, it may take quite some time for them to prepare everything, probably about 1 month period. That also depends on how fast they process it. Furthermore, if to be based in Genting Highland, there are only 2 intakes... which is either 1st or 15th of every month. Application Support, you should be in the POS/GhpMS team, probably POS team I believe.

Just be patience.... in the meantime, try to look for other job as well if you want (just in case). Good luck then.

Bro,Thanks for your information. So now all depend on how fast they process the application lo?
By the way, do u think am i need to call HR for asking my status?
Thanks

Just be patience... How long you have been waiting by the way ?
If it is not yet a month, perhaps you should wait more longer.
If it is almost or more than a month, you can ring them up to check the status, if you wanted to.

# If you are hired and the intake is over, how ? Don't worry too much, eGenting HR will call you up to confirm which intake you can/will join.
# Ask anything you are not sure of whenever HR rings you up
# prepare 20 cents COINS (a lots, really alots) if you are stationed in Genting and you need to laundry yourself.
** 20 cents for Dry machines (only 20 cents coins = 5 minutes)
** RM1 (not coins) = 20 minutes wash
# Pillow/blanket/bedsheet will be provided (2 sets)
# Room, basically there is a desk (with lamp), clothes closet, wooden chairs
# Bathroom (either 2 rooms sharing one, or 1 room 2 person sharing type. Depends on which RSC(block) you being assigned)
# Room is 2 person-sharing basis, unless you are Senior Executive and above
# Executive Club (Exec Mess most people called) has free WiFi (or 3 PCs accessible to Internet), lounge(beer/alcoholic drinks), pool and billiard table and Karaoke (RM5/10 per hour) ** Not allowed to wear slipper/sandal, short or 3/4 pant, singlet, in other words must wear proper attire **

Bro, since i applied is Executive Level. The Manager told me tat i can free wash 6 set of clothes per week. A bit different with wat u stated here. My food allowance is RM980, is it enough for eat in there? It just pass 2 weeks more after the interview. I will be patient since the guy told me wait till 1st week of Jan.
Thanks for reply...
*
Yes. What the manager told you are correct.

Male : 6 shirts & 3 pairs of pants (per week)
Female : 6 dresses or 6 skirts/blouses (per week)
Male/Female : 1 pc of Blanket+Pillow slip+Bedsheet (per month)

Note :

#1 The free laundry can be taken only 3-5 days after you hand in, this also depends on how busy laundry is. If you able to match up with their schedules, then it will be fine to you to use the free laundry service.

#2 Free laundry is not like located just next to your RSC, there is a certain walking distance if you need to hand in those clothes (not an issue if you need the service)

#3 There is a paid-laundry also (1st 5kg RM4.50), also few days can collect after you hand-in

Though, it's up to your plan. If you need to perform laundry yourself (which you can actually wash inside bathroom, then take to dry machine to dry up your clothes). If this is the case, you definitely need 20 cents COINS for that, better prepare cos 20 cents COINS it's like "Diamond" there.

Singing card (also your ID Card)... Executive level and above is fixed with RM980 monthly (approx. RM30/day), no carry forward to next month. There is another card, which is called "White Card" with RM40 monthly (No carry forward to next month too). This "White Card" can be used only at RSC's canteens or at 15th Floor (you will know where) to purchase your groceries/toiletries. Things sell at 15th is slightly expensive than Watson (First World Hotel Lobby there). Foods sell at RSC's canteen are quite cheap (compare to outside)... although RM40 looks very little (it is indeed), but at least you don't need to spend too much there.

Summary of the above :
* White Card - Can only be signed at RSC's canteens/15th Floor's Grocery Shop
* Signing Card - Can only be signed at Genting's F&B Outlets (not like KFC, McD etc.) ## Subject to the availability of the outlets, they have the rights to refuse to let you sign (customers come first), mostly like Seasonal/Weekend period.
First World Plaza
Hou Mei Restaurant, HaiNan Restaurant, First World Lobby Cafe (Cakes there is tasty)
Genting Hotel
The Bakery (recommends their signature sandwish), Coffee Terrace (Buffet), Good Friend Restaurant (Chinese Non-Halal), Good Friend Express, Pizza Factory, Lao Di Fang
Theme Park Hotel
Happy Valley Restaurant
Resort Hotel
Resort Cafe, Kampong Restaurant
RSC8 Cafeteria (Special case)
* Cakes and foods there are not bad too. End of month if your signing card still have monies left, can purchase foods like KitKat, Cornflakes, cookies, soft drinks from there, cos cannot carry forward.

P/S : Info given here perhaps more than what the manager told you. Oh ya, most of the info listed above will be conducted during the HR Orientation on 1st or 2nd day. HR will bring the whole batch at that day to walk around where the locations are, yet you should need to explore by yourself.

Since you were called by the Manager (I assumed), probably you are hired already, just need to wait for the Black & White things done.
Happy New Year and good luck in your 2010 new year. smile.gif

then was turned down by you saying you already got a new job vmad.gif
perhaps they should have reviewed their HR process of taking new recruitment. whistling.gif
