Kitchen - 1 nos
Dining room - 1 nos
Living room - 2 nos
Master room - 1 nos
2nd room - 1 nos
Above area definitely not bright enough with 12w
China downlight rarely can get 1w=100lumen.....Branded local brand also difficult to achieve....Except few led bulb

U need calculate lumen and lux based on ur preference of brightness.....More accurate and reliable.....
Based on experience.....

Hi all,

Would like to ask about 12w downlight as attach, it is enough for my 660sqft house?

Kitchen - 1 nos
Dining room - 1 nos
Living room - 2 nos
Master room - 1 nos
2nd room - 1 nos
Toilet - 1 nos
Balcony - 1 nos
Dry yard - 1 nos
All downlight is 12w. Wan to know it is enough bright/dim? As for myself, I dislike the house so bright, a little bit dim is ok. Now my other concern is, will 12w downlight was way dimmer than I expected? Dilemma now.

will recommend u use minimum 18w..

buy in local shop, this aint expensive in local shop vs taobao.. taobao warranty dont have.. but shop yes.. driver always is a problem for surface mount led.. unless your ceiling height is very low like 8ft, if 10ft, 12w of this surface mount light seem not bright enough la..

personally have new house and used this surface mount as well..

Only toilet using 12w.. the rest of room i use 18w and loop additional light point.. meaning 36w each room.. looping is not expensive.. get a wireman and they will advise u..

very easy one. Take tube light as counter. estimate how many tube you will use at certain location. 1 tube is 36W, you then match it with LED.

Hi guys.
Need your opinion regarding what light is suitable to use in bedroom as the lightpoint is on the wall not on ceiling.
And only one lightpoint per room.

Sorry TS i tumpang your thread.

Thank you.

bedroom no need so bright unless u have workspace within. dimmer light good for atmosphere and sleep. especially warm white lights. 12W will do.

these definitely way too low unless really small space. but still, if you gonna install 1 nos, then most likely will be at the middle of the room, then how about your ceiling fan? no fan?

normally for rooms i would recommend 4 downlights at each corner to sufficiently lit each corner space, shadow from ceiling fan also minimized. if only 2 lights then confirm got shadow when fan pusing.

the problem with just 1 light is shadow. imagine u working at kitchen and the light is right above your head and you cant see where you are cutting because your head/body blocking the light.

I would provide more lighting in kitchen and study room where the food preparation where colours and details are important
