Oh? Now this is rare.....who is the person? Where did he got the beta firmware?
*
zhuoyang heck, haha u already posted in your 1st page. Flash the edit7 firmware 1st, then proceed to flash TM stock firmware, beware, all settings LOST except router config page password@192.168.0.1

Im initially on 20180103 us firmware>>zhuoyang>>tm>>time latest firmware

Method discovered, myth debunked smile.gif

EDIT: verified, it works when the firmware directly before zhuoyang is Archer C1200(EU)_V1_180124 [https://static.tp-link.com/2018/201801/20180129/Archer%20C1200(EU)_V1_180124.zip]

EDIT2: it's possible to skip TM directly to TIME's firmware. If one can flash back to TM, one can also flash back to TIME, vice versa

EDIT3: it's safe to assume that no matter what us or eu firmware u are on, just flash zhuoyang's edit 7 firmware and u are good to go.

The last time when those steps were attempted, it resulted in corrupted config.bin which the only solution is to press the 'reset' button to restore it.

Oh well, I might as well as edit it.

I updated to the latest build, 20180502 for time broadband. Issue is, it keep connecting with new WAN ip address after every 10 to 15 mins. bangwall.gif
During the update, the firmware was stuck at 27% percent but after 15mins later, i manually restarted and reset the router. It is booted up and saw correct version stated below the page.

Would i say it is completely upgraded?
and Could this be the problem that is giving the reconnection of WAN?

Currently, i have set it On-Demand and hope for the best.

Pls advise. Thank you.

It is manually rebooting by itself now. Suggest you change to new better router or get a replacement from TIME.

Go to page number 8 of this thread.

Ah yes, the TFTP method. I only suggest he change it as it is better for him to have a new better router.

Hi. How's the AC2300 performance?

Thanks.

I second this. also like to know 2.4Ghz.

I am torn between this AC2300 and AC3150. This onw has higher processing speed and more RAM. Comment that stop me last time is on the firmware issue.

After nightmarish AC1200, I am wary on this issue.

ac2300 far more better than ac1200, and the price are big different too. cool2.gif
The MIMO really make the 2.5g and 5g wifi good experience vs 1200, which is really suck.
The 2300 with far better cpu and ram, and better hardware. It did a good job, and designed for multi-users high demand home usage (not for gamers, as gamers expect far better throughput). There is build-in Trend Micro internet security feature, even with that running, the cpu usage is like 2-10% majority of time.

The 3150 is fairly old model and going to replace soon, I prefer 2300 as it using 1.8GHz dual-cores in-order 64-bit ARM Cortex A53 cpu, same per ASUS RT-AC86U, but cheaper price due to lower wifi bandwidth and etc. I feel this is good enough for my family with 4-6 members on 100mbps unifi.

CPU1: Broadcom BCM4906 (1.8 GHz, 2 cores)
FLA1: 128 MiB (ESMT F59L1G81MA-25TG2Y)
RAM1: 512 MiB (Samsung K4B4G1646E-BYK0)

I just upgraded AC 1200 firmware from original V 1.0.0 Build 20161115 rel.42795 (EU) to V 1.1.3 Build 20180124 rel.52299 (EU). Upgrade was successful but somehow it fails to set up the internet connection although I had the unifi ID and password keyed in correctly. Any idea pal?

Hi Silent Vampire. Thank for your quick reply 😁 yes, pppoe with correct username and password. Sorry for this silly question, where to select Unifi mode? I didn’t see any option for this

No worries. Go to the Advanced tab, Network tab, then IPTV tab, select Malaysia-Unifi.

Follow SilentVampire instruction above on setting up the VLAN tagging.

But why didn't you install the beta firmware? yawn.gif
After all, the beta firmware is more up to date........look for it at first page.

Thanks for the review bro.

Appreciate that.
What about speed on 5GHz?

Able to get full signal everywhere in the house with 5GHz?

Thanks.

Hi JohnLai. I did read through your post. Was wondering the beta version might have some bugs. Am waiting for the official version. By the way, thank u so much as your post guided me a lot on the firmware upgrade. As mentioned in your post, too sad the channel for EU firmware is not as many as Unifi firmware.

You are right about the hardware specs of the C2300, but its wireless coverage and 3x3 MIMO still lags behind the C3150 which has superb wireless coverage as it has 2.4GHz and 5GHz power amplifier, and 4x4 MIMO as it has better wireless radio chips than the C2300.

The C3150 is not an old model, my friend, as it was just released last year and only slightly earlier than the C2300, so not sure where you get the old model statement from?
