Not working anymore.

Something is not right with TP-Link website since yesterday.
Even their forums are browseable just now after down for whole day. Might be temporary outage?

So i accidentally flashed TIME fw to TM's C1200. Even the login page password were different. Luckily i found some info in here and TIME thread.

Managed to flashed to this latest EU fw. Now act as an AP. So far so good.

Oh? You didn't regret missing the other 5ghz channels and 2.4ghz channel 12+13? blink.gif
This is rare....most people decide not to upgrade to EU version because of the limitation. rclxms.gif

I choose features (AP mode + 5ghz beamforming + security) over those limitations. (I have my 5ghz and 2.4ghz channels back anyway tongue.gif )

Remember to activate 5ghz beamforming at Advanced, System Tools, System Parameter, TX Beamforming. thumbsup.gif

C1200 V1 has 5ghz beamforming once you flashed the EU firmware.

Go find it at Advanced --> System Tools --> System Parameter --> 5ghz wireless --> TX Beamforming --> Tick Enable TXBF --> Save

Get access to router SSH, then get root access, backup_config.bin, decrypt backup_config.bin, modify config.xml + set the xml region to MY, reencrypt + repack again, use "uci set wireless.eth2.country=MY" "uci set wireless.eth3.country=MY", then you can upload the modified backup_config.bin successfully. Reboot and done.

You will get channel 36 - 48 and 149 - 165 back at webui. You can't set the middle channel 120 etc at webui, however you can use "uci wireless.eth2.channel=120" to force it and adjust the modified backup_config.bin accordingly.

Hi JohnLai,
Thank you, downloaded the beta firmware.

I do not using 5GHz wifi, only 2.4GHz. Now monitor the 1.1.3 EU firmware to see whether I get stable connection to unifi. As long as no DC for 3-10 seconds issue for 2-3 days, i am good and satisfy with it.

Maybe your display screen resolution is too small? Have you scroll down after clicking system tools?

Is the option still missing if you use desktop browser?

Then it is time for extreme measure.
Follow the instruction in the video.
https://ufile.io/uyb3i
HEVC video capture, which is why the 30 seconds video file size is small.

I guess the systemparameters option is hidden in AP Mode. hmm.gif

Don't worry about it, once you enter the systemparameters via browser inspect tool, you can enable 5ghz beamforming just fine.

Remember to reboot the router after you saved successfully. You will probably get 3 - 5db gain for 5ghz wifi network. rclxms.gif

edit:
Read some stuff on beamforming by Marvell.
https://www.marvell.com/wireless/assets/Mar...Beamforming.pdf
It is an old stuff for 802.11n, but more or less the same for 5ghz 802.11ac.
The pdf claims "Tx BF provides up to 12 dB of perceptible gain in over-the-air tests in home and enterprise environments. It also increases the rate at range of high-definition (HD) video streaming applications by about 2x their current range with the same bandwidth."

Please read the limitation as well.

Well....aside from official firmware....if you really need the high power 5ghz channel 161 and 165....you might wanna try TM beta firmware (random reboot / wifi fix included).
Beware of TM firrmware pro and cons...  dry.gif
You can find it at first page.

Eh? Didn't realize your post......

There are two firmwares for C1200, one is Malaysian firmware (TIME, Maxis, TM), the other is EU firmware (for European regions)
