My sis has been chatting with strangers online and my parents have forbade her to do so but she's being a stupid brat so now I have to lock up all the messengers.

However she's now onto web messengers and I've changed the HOSTS file so that she cant access these sites. But she somehow she found out about this. I'm using File & Folder Protector but it doesnt allow me to lock/protect system files so is there any alternative and small programs that could do the task?

I assume you are login as admin, change your password and then setup a guest account for your sis, so she wont have access to your admin acc. After that go to your network tcpip and block the web messager ip from there. If she still be able to go to the web, then lock the ip from your modem router.

Wow thanks a lot. That's actually the first link on google if I search "lock hosts file". Guess I'm kind of an idiot.

is it some kinda like block a certain port so unable to access to the particular software ?

btw i read the bacth file and found this:

1. change to the hosts file directory
2. attrib <filename> +r +h +s

it will set your hosts file to Read Only, Hidden & set as System File

for more command use attrib /?

I suggest u have a talk with her...rather than blocking like that...
If she chat 24x7 and ignore homeworks then just lock the pc entirely...

Make some rules and make sure she obey it.
