i'm thinking to buy sony s650..izzit a good camera?coz my budget is around 500 and this camera cast 499..other choice?thinking about getting these..

What I can say is the muvie recording for this camera is quite small which is 320x240 compare to the typical camera which is 640x480

Although this cam onli rm499 but the memory card is expensive, 1GB about rm120 (i asked at store)... which mean the cam + card u nid budget around RM600...

Mayb u can consider take Canon Powershot A550 (street price RM599)... i compare this two cam i think canon is better in term of pic quality (juz my personal opinion)... but the canon A550 is more fat compare to sony... however canon use SD card which is much cheaper than sony memory stick... and Canon can take 640*480 30fps video....

Actually for budget cam around RM500-700 included card really got not much choice if u wan to buy branded cam... I only know got Sony S650 / S700, Canon Powershot A460, A550, Olympus FE210 or Nikon L-series Etc.....

Mayb u can search for more details on CNET and go to shop to try out those cam... Take some time to test the cam is better coz by doing that only u ll know whether u satisfied with the cam or not....

a550 is kinda fatty..might be thinking of buying it too..thx for ur opinion..

Anyway, 1GB MSPD is just RM70 nowdays (I ask the shop at Low Yat Plaza). It's true that Canon A550 can take 640x480 30fps. But, the compression is not so gud. 1GB can only record at 20 minutes or sumthing while with Sony S650, for 1GB, it can record up to 45 minutes. and for the solution, I havent find any solution yet since I'm on the reserach to find a budget digicam. still considering canon A550 and Sony S650.

aiyak..hm..my mum ask me to search for canon..so 499 can get a460 kinda nice for me i think..

Canon A460 only got ISO 400 which is less suitable to take pic in low light situation, but Sony S650 got ISO 1000, Canon A550 got ISO 800...

Depend on ur needs and preference on which to buy.

Added on April 30, 2007, 8:29 pmI aso did my research for almost a month, consider whether Canon A550, Sony S650, Olympus FE190 etc... but at the end i chose Canon A550 after tryout these cam. I almost go buy Olympus FE190 in pc fair, becoz this cam dun have burst shoot then i give up liao...

MSPD onli rm 70 ... i asked at fotokem / other store in sungei wang nid rm120 leh.....

if there's rm 70 mspd..i might be getting s650..but if not..aiyak..really buntu edi

i think got rm 70 mspd, but mayb not warranty by Sony loh, the RM120 mspd Sony give 5 years warranty punya, rm 70 perhaps is 1 yr warranty given by dealer... I m not sure...

so blur jor..which one..i think sony lor like this..T__T

no need to be blur, just go to Sony center or any stores to try the cam, c whether u satisfited with the cam or not... take some pics and vid, zoom, go through the menu and functions etc... if possible go try other brand cam aso for compare and contrast...

You ask the wrong place. I said u go ask around Low Yat Plaza (PC Shop). Even in the garage sale also got that price.

have you made up your mind ? im in the market for camera too, budget around rm500 and was considering the sony too..its 7.2, seems like quite good but im a newbie in this field so don't know whether its really good or not.

you need further understanding on cameras. 7.2 megapixels doesn't say shit about whether it's good or not.



hehe. what can you expect from a camera that price.

besides the above, what you failed to mention was that A550 is the most pricey, then comes the S650 then the A460.

well,after checking around in a few sites such as steves digicam, i think i should get either the Fuji F20 or Canon A550 which i believe both is well within my budget and quite nice too

maybe i get sony..i dunno..still didint make any decision yet..

yaya, high megapixels doesnt mean the cam is good, user need to consider shutter speed, shutter lag, ISO, the noise of the pic etc...

but budget cam really cannot expect that much loh...

i bought nikon L10 atlast..LOL..satisfied lor..
