Vista Build: RTM 6000
Vista Version: Windows Vista Home Premium
Problem: It's taking forever to shutdown sometimes. Usually it happens when I on my computer for too long.

Vista Build: Retail 6000
Vista Version: Windows Vista Ultimate
Problem: My case is exactly the same like samurai1337. But it rarely happens, very rare. Usually it also happens when I on my computer for too long.

Guess this is a common problem.

I don't think it's because of the update/new device reason that adriankhoo153 was saying. It takes really long (> 30 minutes) that I'd rather turn the power off...

In addition to nocturnal's input, there's a page to guide you on those interesting minor tweaks in Vista's user interface :-)

or you could try ALT + Tab ..

ALT + Tab is not the equivalent to Flip3D, "Windows Key" + Tab is smile.gif
