so usually after i done using my PC, i will put the computer to hibernate before turning off the mains power, so that when i turn back on everything is still there.

but recently there is an issue, where when i press the power button on my pc (to hibernate) or attempt to shut down from the menu, screen will go blank and lock screen will appear.

ive tried:
- turning off hybrid boot
- run shutdown.exe -s -t 1
- run command line to hibernate
- shut down/hibernate/restart from start menu
- run power troubleshooter

most of the time hibernate doesnt work... at times all doesnt work, have to long press power for hard reset.

any ideas? thanks.

Restore your Windows Power Management setting to default and try again.

No other way to fix?

Wow and here I thought sata ssd is fast enough.

Win 10 by default can wake itself up to do periodic maintenance. If you don't want it to do that, you can Google for ways to disable it from waking itself up.

Also disable wake up over LAN. Sometimes other device tries to connect to the PC, such as modem or other pc/phone that have connected to your pc before. And when they tried to connect, wake up over LAN will make the pc.
