Not only is Edin Dzeko resisting Chelsea, but there are reports Emerson Palmieri might not leave Roma for Stamford Bridge either.
It was all set for a double deal, the two Giallorossi players making the move to London for a total €55m plus bonuses.
However, over the last 24 hours, both transfers seem to be falling apart at the seams.
First Roma director of sport Monchi declared on Wednesday that the offer for Dzeko was “not interesting” enough to accept, then rumours emerged the Bosnia international wanted a contract to June 2020 when Chelsea are at most proposing a deal to 2019.
Now Sky Sport Italia claim Chelsea are turning their focus away from Emerson Palmieri and instead asked Paris Saint-Germain for the availability of Layvin Kurzawa.
Emerson has only just returned to action after six months out with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and there might be some concerns paying €25-30m for a player whose fitness levels are uncertain.
Antonio Conte complained in a Press conference last night that the club does not necessarily listen to his requests on the transfer market and he could’ve been referring to this drift away from his chosen targets.
yeah, but seems like recently Abramovich is alot more patient compared to back in the days. well, hopefully Conte stays. not like got good replacement for now
He's a lot more patient these days because he's pretty much accomplished what he set out to do when he started, to win the CL.
Now he wants to club to be self sustainable and to do that the decision making at the club has to be more long term and therefore patient. It also doesn't help that his wallet has shrunk significantly since the crude oil crash and his divorce settlement, and now he is footing the bill for the stadium.
Given he was surprisingly patient during Mourinho's disastrous season, he was even said to be backing Mourinho till the end only to be outvoted by fellow board members on the decision so he decided to respect the choice of the majority. I would expect Conte to see out the season unless something dramatic happens.
City need 18 points (6 games) to crown as EPL champion
the soonest is 7th April... City vs MU at Etihad
Destiny? Fate?
That is only possible if both City and United win all their games until then which is unlikely with some big games like City v Arsenal, City v Chelsea and Liverpool v United in between.
”My task is to try and improve every single player, in every aspect. In terms of their mentality also. And their desire, their will to fight, and all the tactical aspects. My task is this and, for this, I’m very good. But I think I’m a bit of a disaster to convince the club to buy players. I think in this aspect I can improve a lot.
“I have to learn a lot from the other coaches, the other managers, in that aspect. I have to speak more with the managers who are very, very good at persuading their clubs to spend money to buy top players. One way might be to stop improving the players I have ... yes, you are not the first person to tell me this.”
imo, it's either bats just not suited for epl (his 1st touch really suck) or conte's tactic doesn't suit him edit: just watched the highlight, seems like his confidence is growing. good stuff. btw, bats always score last minutes winning goal.
Both. Aubameyang was not a striker who's heavily involved in the buildup play for Dortmund, he's a poacher and Batshuayi is exactly that. Batshuayi's ability as a finisher is acknowledged by even Thierry Henry himself, which is why Batshuayi has slotted into Dortmund's system seamlessly. It doesn't matter how good he is when he comes back to Chelsea, he will still disappoint unless Chelsea's next coach can implement a system that suits him but the difficulty will be trying to fit both him and Morata into the same lineup.
Here's Musonda. Doesn't matter how talented he is, he will likely follow the footsteps of RLC and Ake to ignite their career away from Chelsea unless these youngsters get their chances.
"We could have played on for three hours, and I wouldn’t touch a ball. Only at the end it went better: in the last 10-15 minutes we had more possession. But we should have tried to do that all game.” - Eden Hazard
mo salah hit 4 and his 3rd goal is a wonder. 36 goals this season for liverpool.. and we sell him simply because he cannot commit on defending..
QUOTE(zoidx_chung @ Mar 18 2018, 10:44 AM)
what to do... mou was the coach mata, kdb, salah, all were sold because defending issue
and board is stupid not included buy back clause
And to say they don't defend is a stretch. Both Pep and Klopp's systems utilize high intensity pressing and both Salah and KDB play a key role in that system. Even before Salah came to Liverpool he has shown high workrate and commitment to defending at Roma and Fiorentina.
Salah at Chelsea not good enough at the time. cant dethrone Oscar Hazard Willian Schurrle during that time. what to do. didnt have patience with him and send him to serie A. he came back a different player. replaced with cuadrado
from what i see, salah indeed not good enough that time as he can't dribble through EPL defence n can't shoot well.
but we can chose to loan instead of selling him. dunno what is the board thinking
for kdb case, that is mou n board stupidity for didn't give chance and sell instead of loaning. when he played i can see that he is better than oscar. not afraid to do long shot.
To be fair, it was a loan at first to Fiorentina with option to buy but Salah did not want to return there and wanted to go to Roma instead. So he was once again loaned to Roma and again with option to buy which Roma eventually activated.
