Yup I can change aircon and fan belt.
But is water pump really necessary?
Is it ok to change water pump the next time? (when not changing timing belt)
Is changing water pump a simple procedure or is it as complicating as changing the timing belt.
Get the timing set which include idler and tensioner. Your original idler should started to develop rust already. Forget about getting Proton original. Get the gates or saito.
Water pump is not necessary unless leaking or weeble. However, it cost less than rm100 so you might want to consider new one as rust should started to develop too. And yes, replacing water pump is labor intensive which cost as much as timing belt replacement. So might as well replace water pump without any extra charge.
One thing people tend to forget is the seal/gasket for timing cover. Get rubber type which cost around RM20. No cutting will be required, unlike Proton original which you need to buy 2 pcs and cut them to fit.
