Did Google and Xiaomi fulfill their promise on the A-series project...(?)

Launch To-date
[attachmentid=10724811] [attachmentid=10724812]

Conclusion : 2 Major OS upgrade and 3 years Security Update have been fulfilled. Thanx Google & See-How-Me...

p/s : The A1 is still running fast due to pure stock background activities...

My mi A1 failed me in a year. Both hardware (buttons) and software(lag)

The buttons are poor quality, already changed once and now the button feels like its on its way out. The older Redmi's have the same crappy button issue.
I don't have bad lag but the gps issue means I can't use the phone as a reliable daily driver.

I told myself, not to buy budget phone again. Waste of money and time. Even buying an older iPhone doesn't cause me hardware problems beside the poor battery & low ram

Whatever youtuber/user says , it's their first impressions fair enough. But it's just not reliable enough as daily driver for longer term. Failure hardware thats worst than nokia 3315

I've used oppo f11 pro a mid range phone , more than 1year and the buttons are fine.

Budget/mid range spec is not good enough and I don't game much too. The idea is just like getting a PC. Cpu, ram , storage, software, screen are important.

All these phone manufacturers throw in specs that's not needed and jack up the price which youtubers say USD700/RM2.8k phones are budget phones now. Are you kidding me?

Now using OnePlus 8t, will hope it lasts me longer than all these older iPhone, budget/mid range androids

In my opinion, don't buy budget phones unless you have no choice. Even our older parents will be annoyed by the failure of such devices.

Have a nice day

Not the best phone. The side power button is anoying but i live with it as not every day using the button. GPS having issue sometime, but after changing to another telco it is better so cant blame the device fully.

It is not best spec nowadays, but for normal usage is okay.

My daughter also using for games, not really smooth but can la.

After many years, 3 mi A1 still going strong.  Better than the asus where 3 of them kaput just after a year.

Current mid range phone is okay but pricing is crazy, especially the top range phones. Better get notebook.

Good to hear it works for you.

Now, buying a brand new smartphone = buying a car or house = monthly installment @ 0% interest.

In 10 years time, "buying" a smartphone is
= renting a house for the rest of our lives.
= rent monthly to use smartphone.

The future will be 100% services fees (aka subscription or rental) and not ownership anymore...

Scarily it sounds true... Yikes
