so my box got no EIN sticker but got global printed....i buy at lazada...kira is ap or ori xiaomi warranty? 🤔
*
Your unit could be from "Xiaomi Malaysia Sdn Bhd" and NOT from "Era International Network Sdn Bhd".... both are authorised distributors for Mi A1 in Malaysia....
Attached Image

To confirm whether local or AP set, just key-in the IMEI (dialer code = *#06#; any IMEI will do...) below:
SIRIM IMEI Inquiry

Your result should be as below (but should be "Xiaomi Malaysia Sdn Bhd" instead...):

Connection for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz have the same issue...? If yes, change the WiFi channels to Channel 3 (2.4GHz) or Channel 40 (5HGz)...

Is there anyway of solving the battery draining issue or any apps u all are using to prevent this. Thanks
*
Before we can solve energy drain issue, we need to determine the root of the problem.

I encourage we use GSam Battery Monitor app (either free or Pro version).

After installed the app, open the app and let it collect interim data for at least 24 hours.

After using the app for more than 24 hours, fully charge the device to 100% right before bedtime. Don't use the device until next morning. The moment we wake up in the next morning, opened the app and study the reading of percentage per hour lost as shown below:

Attached Image

In example above, overnight idle drain is 0.2%/hour. The normal overnight standby drain should not be more than 0.5%/hour (for brand new device or after every hard reset)

The app also has further analysis on Doze and energy consumption by apps as shown below:

With all these readings, hopefully we can detect the root of the problem whether due to rouge apps or some other reasons. Usually, pesky apps are the cause of standby drain...

How you do the long screenshot? A1 have this? Mind sharing the app?
*
Those screenshots are not from A1 buy from my daily driver LeMoto P2... P2 has built-in long/scroll screenshots feature...

As for A1, you might wanna try StitchCraft (Free or Paid version)

Haven't reset my device but only uninstalled Waze. GPS has worked on Google maps. Will monitor further.
*
The best method to ensure GPS navigation is working flawlessly is to launch Google Maps first and let the location properly lock within the Google Maps.

Once the location has been locked, we can launch Waze/HERE Map/etc and be surprised the location in Waze is locked instantly.

The Google Maps app has "location history" feature that Waze doesn't possessed. That's why Waze hardly lock our position from "cold" start...

There's nothing wrong with Mi A1 GPS module....nothing to do with MIUI either... it's the locking algorithm from the "cold" start of GPS module...

I somehow do not have this issue though, even with my redmi note 3 if I am with maxis.

U mobile would be dead meat, Digi 50/50

With maxis, waze would lock almost instantly.
Usually verified with GPS Status & Tools
*
I saw many blamed telco too especially UMobile... Frankly, my son's Redmi 4X + UMobile SIM does not have GPS lock issue at all even if the GPS is set to "Device Only" mode...Summore, can even lock the location inside the house...

Plug the same UMobile SIM into my Galaxy Note5 and LeMoto P2 also no problem... so, nothing to do with telcos...

That's not too sure about the phone GPS unit but I doubt so.

My own experience with U-mobile in Damansara/Ipoh.
U-mobile, always lose connection in waze.
Swap sim card or internet hotspot from another phone (Maxis), straight away locked and never have connection drop issue.

Before I purchase MiA1, it was

Mi4i - U Mobile
Redmi Note 3 - Maxis

Never had issue with the Redmi Note 3 but always with Mi4i.

Once I purchased Mi Ai, mi4i become a spare phone and it become

Redmi Note 3 - U Mobile
Mi A1 - Maxis.

The GPS issue follow the "telco" instead of the phone somehow. When I sent my Mi A1 for rma two weeks ago, I put Maxis into Mi4i and never have a GPS issue.

Apparently I'm not the only one in the U-Mobile user thread group.
*
Can we try "offline" navigation just like in my YouTube below...?

By testing in "airplane" mode for navigation, at least we cancel out the "telco" factor...

So far, my Redmi 4X, Galaxy Note5 & LeMoto P2 have no issue under any telcos.

Furthermore, "offline" navigation methodology is the proof that "telco" involvement is "illusive"...

What about the successor to Mi A1? I heard Mi A2 supposed to be launched in Malaysia already? But the thing is I haven't found seller selling it. I only managed to find the Mi 6x variant which are imported sets. Anyone can shed some info here?
*
Just like last year's in 5th September 2017, wait for Mi A2 coming from India first...they have the population to "control" product launching and announcement...

2 weeks after India released, we will get "pre-order" promo...

Very funny as Android 8.1 is still not being pushed thru OTA... Hope they are not purposely ignore A1... Moto X4 already got their 8.1 weeks ago even though it has Moto Action features plugged in to Android OS... But let's stay positive and assuming they are thoroughly testing the 8.1 before OTA-ed...

I try this method before, didn't work.
I compared my friend huawei Nova during cloudy sky from damansara to puchong one hour driving, his Waze/GPS worked charm, my A1 gps just like dead, never move. I use Hotlink

Restart the device and set the GPS to "High" accuracy...
