RESULT:

Superpi
1.kevyeoh 14.5s
2.gogo2 14.7s

Thanks to charge-n-go, I got myself a Quadcore Extreme QX6700 2.66MHz.

The rest of the system configuration is as follow:

Gigabyte 965P-DS3 rev1.0 BIOS:F10
Patriot DDR2 1GB x 2 667MHz
Western Digital 500GB 16MB SATAII
Galaxy 7300GT DDR3 128MB
Fortron Epsilon 600W
CoolerMaster Hyper6+

I haven't touch the maximum OC of this Quadcore. Still in the process to determine the limit of this board and Quadcore.

So far, this is what I got:
CPU
3.3GHz at Vcore 1.325V

FSB
300MHz (MCH, FSB + 0.2V)

RAM
375MHz at Vdimm+0.2V

START
Attached Image

Any question, please ask. And if you want me to change anything, I might entertain smile.gif

Will post final result soon!

Yup, 333MHz works just fine. But I accidentally change it to ratio 6. Hahaha.....let me reboot my PC now.

Super-pi advance a bit. rclxm9.gif

But let me change the latency. The reason i choose 4:5 because I see 667MHz setting does not boost much of the superpi.

so how much gain do you get from 333MHz to 416MHz?
*
a mere 0.2s.

by the way, here is the latest screenie.

it seems improvement is little. I think need to boost the FSB now tongue.gif

EDITED:
Its weird that Gigabyte indicate its rev1.0 board cannot support 333MHz. Anyway, haven't run Prime yet

EDITED:
Up the FSB = 340 again! CPU is 3.4GHZ

Superpi 15s

Not sure about the 1T coz I can't really set it inside the BIOS.

Still can't get below 15s. Already tried low latency but with lower speed.

I think what we need is, low latency high speed RAM couple with high speed CPU.

Anyway, here is the latest OC diary screenie:

Still at 15s sad.gif

gogo2, wanna break into the 14 seconds, up the speed to 3.6Ghz, sure can XD
*
Ok, I'll try it....smile.gif

QUOTE(hotchoc @ Apr 30 2007, 04:22 AM)
wat bout temperature loads?
*
Forgot to take. Wait ya..

QUOTE(c38y50y70 @ Apr 30 2007, 11:45 AM)
CPU: 3500MHz (10x350)
RAM : 350MHz 4-4-4-15

I think it can break 15s barrier
*
Tried with that. The system keep on restart. The system cannot take 350MHz FSB. I think maybe this board is rev1.0. If rev3.3, I believe can go higher. Right now, my board can go below 350. 340 is the one I'm using.

whoaa...nice to see this thread...i'm also using qx670 and DS3...

well...currently my system is very stable at 3.2Ghz...prime95 run for 8hrs no problem...

when i tried pushing up to 3.4Ghz or 3.3Ghz..i think prime95 can't maintain stable...after a while of stress, one of the core will fail prime...

so guys...did you just bump up the freq and superpi it? or you run prime as well also?

what's the temperature reading using TAT?
*
Just bump the speed and super pi. can u give ur result? I'll post it in the first post. smile.gif Thanks for contributing.

Maybe after C2d, all the ES version really not good in OC if compare with the retail one, i got myself a QX6700 too, but dunno why my Tforce 965PT cant boot it, very regret that i m sell off my DS3.....  doh.gif
*
sad.gif Why wanna sell ds3? is it because its version 1.0?

well, i've posted my result at the other thread C2D OC database i think...anyway, here you go... i think it's 16s for Superpi only at 3.2Ghz....
*
That's the pi number for 3.2GHz. OC more. See what u get...for ur CPU. Coz my CPU, only can get 3.5GHz. Cannot reach 3.6GHz.

my quad core at 3.6Ghz is getting about 14.5s for 1M superpi calculation...
if you have c2d, can you confirm this?

What i know is... should be the same...if both speed the same...

because superpi does not utilize the extra cores....
so 2 or 4 cores, it's useless...it's all down to raw speed power...hehe....
*
You're right. Its all CPU speed. Last time, some Jap OC his P4 to 7GHz to get 25s superpi. so sad tongue.gif

Anyway, check ur result here:

mine is rev 3.3

i think no problem running 3Ghz @ 1.35V and this should be the stock voltage leh... cannot be lower... your 1.275V is including vdroop already is it?

i'm running 400Mhz very stable now... maybe it's not the rev la...what bios you using?
if you're using DS3 motherboard, try using F9 bios or F10 which i'm using right now...
*
My BIOS is F10. According to Gigabyte website, only rev3.3 can support 333MHz fsb. Mine is officially 266MHz. So its logically valid to think that your rev3.3 can OC more than mine smile.gif

QUOTE(charge-n-go @ May 8 2007, 11:50 AM)
Yes, you are right. The voltage ID is 2Ah by default, which means 1.35V. The max supported ID translates to 1.60V. gogo2, you can pump up to 1.60V safely tongue.gif
*
Ok, I'll pump to 1.6 and see whether it can go to 3.5GHz
