Hi, Any experts on Perodua here? Viva especially? Because I'm having a problem with my car just now, the hand brake can't be pull up. Whenever I pull it up, it will get into its normal position. No 'spring sound; or whatever. But when I go to 'D' gear, I try to pull the handbrake & its okay. Hope I can get some help here, before I kena tipu sama pomen with extra charges. Thank you!

impossible for that to happen as Viva's handbrake is mechanical, no electronic circuits installed, only 1 switch for the dashboard handbrake lamp

I am not exactly sure but it seems to relate to P gear position lock.

CORRECTIVE ACTION You should apply and release the parking brake several times to activate the self adjusters. This may take as many as 10 to 15 times to bring the rear brakes into adjustment. If this is not effective, apply the brakes abruptly while traveling in reverse at low speed. If the parking brake still will not hold, the rear brakes will have to be inspected and adjusted manually. Once the brakes are in proper adjustment, you should utilize the parking brake on a frequent basis to ensure they remain properly adjusted. http://www.auto-repair-help.com/auto_diagn...ll_not_hold.php
