I wonder how many Akatsukis Shiok Toys managed to get. XL got 2 (so I read somewhere in this thread) and most online preorder sites sold out so fast its scary. Even HLJ only had it up for preorder for a day I think, and when I saw it it was already 'Quota Filled'.

For a figure that neither had a game nor a anime but is itself launching a line of media, I think that just goes to show how sexy the figure is.

I was actually surprised that Shiok Toys had her up for preorder, since preorders for her filled up almost instantly everywhere. So I pretty much gave up until I read my email today only to find that Shiok had slots open - hopefully they're actually able to deliver ^^;; She's definitely an outstanding figure, fantastic pose and top notch GSC-standard finish from the looks of the prototype.

Hopefully you're assured of your Haruhi! Out of curiosity, how much are they retailing her for?

^Hmm, considering she retails for about RM300 and factoring in the shipping costs (at least XL will save you the heart attack of dealing with shipping), RM350-RM380 is pretty reasonable. I wonder how tall she is ... will she fit into a regular Detolf ^^;;

shiok toys MISHIRO AKATSUKI is probably the US version, since the US version are still available for preorder. Maybe the US release is as limited as the japanese release

o_o ... that's huuuuge. Thank goodness she's sitting, otherwise she probably wouldn't fit into a standard shelf.

That's the thing that irks me about the Detolf - dust, moisture etc. can still get in easily (especially moisture!). My bf just removed a Ryofu figure which was leaning only to find a layer of moisture at the base doh.gif But it's the best shelf for figures as far as I know, ah well.

Detolf is only suitable if you want to have a 360 degrees view on your figures
or else Ikea or other furniture shops has a lot of reasonable price shelf
which sealed nicely to prevent a lot of dust go into it
the bad thing is these shelf only 1 side glass

haha, my shelf also has gaps, but i think not as big as the detolf tongue.gif
but problem wif mine is the depth is not enuf, and the length can fit maximum 3 1/8s

i agree, detolf IMO are the best coz, well...fully glass, can see from all angles tongue.gif and it'll be brighter inside compared to wooden shelfs
but for me, detolf is not really suitable coz i collect mostly 1/8s, the space between 2 levels are just too wasting to display 1/8s tongue.gif for 1/6 i think its just nice

i should post sum pics of my display, once i get a batt for the camera tongue.gif

Ikea has some shelf which has adjustable layers
if the layers provided along with the shelf is not enough
you can always buy those customized glass layers from Ikea to have a better view on your figures

yeap, my shelf's layers are adjustables tongue.gif but they onli give 3 glass, i think for my usage, i can fit 4 inside tongue.gif
but i think buy the glass outside cheaper tongue.gif dunnit tempered, as long as it can take sum weight

.....then again, now that i look at the mounting holes, all are not placed at the height that allow 4 levels of 1/8 TT
maybe i should drill sum hmm.gif

My figures are strewn all over my roomI have some hiding in little cubby holes, some just standing nonchalantly on top of my work desk, and I even have Louise sitting on top of my monitor (pleasant view when I take a break). I considered getting a detolf once but having a display cabinet means all my figures would be in the same area. The way I have my figures now give my room a more 'lived in' feel.

Does everyone display everything in a cabinet?

haha
well, i have all sealed in the cabinet coz
1. it gets quite hot in my room in the afternoon. i put it inside so that it gets a lil isolated from the hot air
2. knowing my clumsiness, there is a high chance that i'll swing my hand and bowl them down
so, i rather keep them a cupboard tongue.gif as long as the cupboard is near me so that i can have a good view of it laugh.gif

oh...i manage to get the camera to boot for a very short time, so manage to take a quick snap of my display. sorry for the blurness, i quickly snap b4 the camera shuts down
