Consoul 2007

Venue: Area in front of Gamer's Hideout Shop at Cineleisure Damansara
Date: 26th & 27th May - sat & sun (tentative, but more of less confirmed)
Time: 11am to late


What exactly is Consoul 2007? Well, it's Malaysia's first and (hopefully) largest "Bring Your Own Xbox 360" LAN party. Organized by Gamer's Hideout, it will be a chance for you to meet up with other 360 gamers and play against them in the flesh using your own Xbox 360.

Besides that, there is also going to be two tournaments. First of all there is going to be Gears of War tournament (4v4). And then, there is going to be a special Command & Conquer 3 tournament (1v1). Both tournaments will offer very good prizes, I can assure you.

After from that, there is also going to be a Lucky Draw as well offering prizes for all attendees such as a wireless wheel, Live Vision, point cards, faceplate and more!.

Ok, sounds good doesn't it? So, how do you take part?

At this point in time, there are 3 ways to be part of Consoul 2007.

1. Player
- have to bring your own Xbox 360 and display (LCD TV or monitor)
- entry fees: RM29.90
- get a special goodie bag
- get a special mystery gift!
- lunch & dinner for two days (halal)

2. Guest
- don't have to bring your own Xbox 360
- must be registered under a Player (one Player can only bring or register one Guest maximum)
- have to share a 360 with a Player
- entry fees: RM39.90
- get a special goodie bag
- lunch & dinner for two days (halal)


3. GH Player
- don't have to bring your own Xbox 360
- Will be provided a Xbox 360
- entry fees: RM49.90
- get a special goodie bag
- limited to 8 places only!
- during tournament time or any special events though, you have to give up the 360 to the organizers
- lunch & dinner for two days (halal)



Okay, I hope everyone understand how this event is going to work. Read the short FAQI whipped up below for more info.

Q: I'm interested in bringing my own Xbox 360 to the event but why do I have to bring my own LCD monitor/TV?
A: Unfortunately, loaning a large amount of LCD monitors or TV needed for this event is almost impossible. The only way to make this event a reality is to have you guys bring your own display as well.

Q: I have no problems bringing my Xbox 360 and LCD TV but I'm worried about the security.
A: The event area will be off limits to non-participants. Participants will be identified by a tag and anyone without this tag will not be allowed to enter the event area. During the day, we'll have marshals keeping an eye for any itchy hands but please do your part by keeping an eye on your own stuff as well. For those that wish to leave their consoles or display overnight, the stuff will be stored inside the GH shop.

Q: What's included in the entry fees?
A: It includes a goodie bag. The contents of the goodie bag has not been finalized but it should include a T-shirt, official Xbox 360 merchandise, C&C 3 merchandise and more. The total value will be more than the entry free for sure.

The entry fee also includes automatic entry to both the GOW and C&C 3 tournament. You can choose not to take part if you wish.

Q: What's this mystery gift for people that are bringing their own Xbox 360 and display?
A: It's a very special gift and something of value in return for the hassle. It's also something that money can't buy. We don't want to spoil it for you guys but you'll find out on that day itself.

Q: How does the Lucky Draw work?
A: Irregardless if you are a Player, Guest or GH Player, you will be eligible for the Lucky Draw. On Sunday evening, we will do the draw.

Q: What are the rules for the GOW/C&C 3 tournament?
A: For GOW, we'll be following the WCG rules. For C&C 3, its also the WCG rules. go to www.worldcybergames.com to read them.

Q: My Xbox 360 is modded, can I bring it to the event?
A: Unfortunately no, even if all your games are original. This is an event for original gamers only. We will check on the event day if the consoles are modded or otherwise. if you are unsure, please call GH for advice.

Q: How many players will there be in total?
A: We are targeting a maximum of 32 players that will be bringing their own Xbox 360 and display. GH has additionally 8 Xbox 360s of their own, so in total, there could be about 40 gamers.

Q: What is this nonsense about bring your own Xbox 360 and display? Can't you guys provide them?
A: If you know anyone that can provide 32 Xbox 360s WITH LCD monitors, please get in touch with us. We'll gladly assist them organize this event.

Q: Can i bring my handheld game consoles there as well? Especially my pink psp.
A: Sure, go ahead, if you feel that at one point in time that you'll be bored of playing with the 360. But as a show of respect, ori only please.

Q: I can't participate in the event but can I come on one of the days?
A: You can drop by anytime you like to check out the event but you cannot take part in any of the activities (tournaments, lucky draws, etc). If there are any GH 360s available, you can use them to play with other players, but you certainly cannot use any of the player's 360. Besides, you won't be allowed in the LAN party area (where all the player's 360s are) unless you get special permission from us anyway.

Q: What games can I bring to the event and play with my friends?
A: Any game you like, just as long as the game discs are ori. There will be periods in between the tournaments where you guys will have free time. During these free and easy periods you'll have the chance to go up against other players in whatever multiplayer games you like. For the benefit of everyone, here are some games that are popular and make for good multiplayer matches. If you have them, you can bring them along. To make things even simpler, you guys can also agree beforehand what games you guys want to play there.

Q: Okay, so I'm confirmed to join the GOW and C&C 3 tournament, do i have to bring the game discs along on those two days as well?
A: Yes. But if you don't have the game(s), we'll try to provide them for you guys but don't take us for granted. We have limited copies and we can't cater for everyone. If we run out of them, you'll probably need to borrow it from another
player.

Q: I'm interested in joining the GOW/C&C 3 tourney, can come on that day and take part?
A: No, the tournaments are reserved for participants of Consoul 2007 only. You can either join as a Player, Guest or GH player. Sorry, no exceptions.
