Hi sifus, need some advice on below,
1. Preferred brand : HP, ACER, DELL 2. Budget : <3k 3. Usage : daily use, constantly need to convert and edit video, light gaming 4. Screen Size : 14-15, both is fine to me 5. Weight don't matter, battery life don't matter.
Currently eyeing on both model below, 1. Acer Swift 3 14 (SF314-54/54G) - upgrade to 8GB RAM 2. HP Pavillion 15-CS0033TX - upgrade to 8GB RAM + 128GB SSD
Both price and spec is similar to me after the upgrade, leaning more towards HP Pavillion as i heard Acer Swift 3 got some heat issue, and the nice look of HP Pavillion is a big plus to me xD
Anyway, i need some opinion on this two models as well as other model if you have better suggestions? =D

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Jul 11 2018, 03:27 PM) Swift 3 don't have heat issue, normal cooling for Ultrabooks If you prefer more performance, HP Pavilion Gaming (8300H+1050) is a good choice, though it's lacking reviews (from what I see, it has OK-good build quality and cooling). Also need RAM+SSD upgrades Otherwise SF314-54G with RAM upgrade How much does the HP Pavillion Gaming (8300H+1050) cost if upgrade to 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD? around? What about the normal HP Pavillion 15-CS0033TX? is the build quality good enough? any particular reason why choose Acer swift 3 instead of this? thx in advance =)

Dear Sifus,
Need some opinion on getting new laptop,
Budget: <RM3500 Purpose: Daily use, constantly doing video editing & converting, gaming Brand: any brand Core: Intel i5/ i7 Size: 15 inch. Other: Graphic card GTX 1050 or higher, prefer laptop doesnt heat up easily
With all the requirement above, is Dell G3 with SSD and RAM upgrade my best bet? or there are better option? thanks.

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Aug 9 2018, 10:27 AM) Dell G7, Illegear Raven Or 8750H models with repaste: Nitro 5, Pavilion Gaming MSI GL63 is quite good but I have no confidence on its QC+QA Remember to undervolt Sorry I forgot to mention, I prefer having thinner laptop, not too "gaming look" as I will need to bring to works sometimes, and G3 seems to fit all my requirement. Any comment on the Dell G3? Or u have better suggestion on a thinner laptop? Thanks in advance. This post has been edited by lzen92: Aug 9 2018, 11:08 AM

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Aug 9 2018, 11:08 AM) Cooling is a bit mediocre How thin you want? Even after undervolt? Just something not too eye catching (for example the bulky G7 😅) when I bring to office would be good. This post has been edited by lzen92: Aug 9 2018, 11:35 AM

If Dell G7 vs GL503G, which is the better choice to go? thanks =)
