There's no decent laptop with good performance for that budget unless you go used/refurbished

About how much more I need to top up and what brand/model would I be able to get?

At least 3k. Brand is less relevant, choose model not brand.

Soldered on board. Cannot remove

Where did you find the Ideapad 330? Still not launched yet in Malaysia

What are your requirements? For 2k budget you might want to consider used Thinkpad like T430, T520 and T440s. If you prefer new, consider Chuwi stuffs

lol don't know I saw this laptop on their web site for rm2.2.
Just want a laptop with the latest coffee lake chip and at least 16gb of ram. But if can't remove that 4gb of ram it going g to be a problem and know if there even an extra slot to add another 8gb of ram?

Hi guys, been a long time dell customer. Now want to try Asus since i see this model is in my budget range and it is recommend by Dave2d.
https://www.asus.com/my/Laptops/ASUS-ZenBook-13-UX331UAL/

Just wta to ask your, how is asus after sales service? Like if there is problem with the laptop will they come to your house like dell? Bcs at their website i dont see them promoting their after sales services like Dell or Lenovo. Also when i click on buy it redirect me to Lazada? lol cannot buy it from their official website, what joke???

Just want a 13" with a good screen resolution display. Batt life and weight doesn't matter too much.

Acer Spin 5 13

Keep in mind that many 13 inch Ultrabooks have soldered RAM means no upgrade

The stock panel is OKish (low sRGB, OKish contrast, OKish brightness etc), at least get 60Hz 300 nits
