if exclude video rendering? hmm.gif Are there better choice of laptop I can choose from? I dont mind increasing the laptop ram and storage space in latter date as well.

The next good budget choice would be Ideapad 320s 14 (RAM and SSD upgrades are highly recommended)

HP Pavilion 15-CS0033TX , Lenovo Ideapad 320S, Acer Swift 3 (SF314-54G ), Acer Swift 3 15

* I surveyed the price of Acer Swift 3 (SF314-54G ) & Acer Swift 3 15 (8250U+MX150).  Price is almost same. However Acer Swift 3 15 has 256GB SSD and 8 GB Ram which Acer Swift 3 (SF314-54G ) only 128GB SSD and 4 GB Ram. Does it means Acer Swift 3 15 is better? Anything i missing out?
*
Swift 3 15 (SF315-51G) has soldered RAM and thicker bezels (slightly heavier)

All options above are good enough, kudos to your research

Among these models which 1 is the best for u? HP PAVILION 15-CS0033TX ok or not? Any cons for this model?

Besides, may i know how much roughly to upgrade to 8GB Ram? Any reliable yet not too expensive RAM's brand recommended?  blush.gif

Thanks!

All are equally good I would say

The battery is smaller but with KBL-R CPU there should be any problem

RAM is RAM, just buy the cheapest with same timings and frequency

Thanks for the reply. I noticed that many laptops will experience 100% disk usage when running ( including my brother & me) , do u know what are the causes?
*
No SSD, that's why SSD is essential in W10. HDD is just too slow and crap (personal experience)

lol probably too low, but is there any laptop with GTX1060, i7 8th gen, 16gb ram for below RM5k?
*
Acer Helios 300 or Level51 MX15 Elite but you have to sacrifice build quality and cooling

Oh boy, not many choices. Any thoughts of Thunderobot 911 Air? Not the exact specs I wanted, but the price to specs and size ratio seems okay.
Haven't heard of that brand before though, not sure how reliable it is and the cooling too..
*
No info on that (it's a Quanta barebone), but cooling will probably be mediocre looking at the internal images

Hi all, i'm looking at Dell G7 and Lenovo Y530
Lenovo Y530 with core i5 and 1050Ti around 3,400 after discount online
Dell G7 with core i7 and 1050Ti around 4,839 O.O

Wondering any thoughts on the Y530? seems to be best for budget gaming
*
Will do a review soon

It's a good budget gaming laptop (good build quality and cooling), cones with optional 144Hz IPS panel (1050TI models)

Are you a student? What's your budget? Preferred max weight and minimum battery life?

Hi all sifu, I would like to ask how good HP Omen 15 is. I'm looking to upgrade my laptop from the old Y50 and heard many recommend this model. I don't have much good experience with HP laptops so I'm wary about buying this brand.

Mostly using it to play FF14.
*
It's a bit overpriced, the model itself is fine

Ahh ok, if i raise my budget to below RM6k for gtx1060, i7 8th gen, 8/16gb ram is there any with battery power lasting up to 7 hours for non-gaming (surfing/movies/music) and 2-4 hours for moderate gaming?

Also not more than 2.5kg and 2.6cm thick?
*
7 hours in gaming laptop? You're asking too much

Anyway can try AW15 with 99Wh battery without Gsync

Budget not more than 5k. I don't have any preference for weight and battery life because I use it mostly plugged in. My only requirement is having a RGB keyboard aside from having a machine that can run smoothly on high setting for most games.

I was checking out Illegear Raven and Onyx, and there are quite a few users already having many issues one month in. Which makes me think these models aren't exactly top quality for that price. That and the keyboard design makes typing hard (an issue because my job requires a lot of reporting).
*
If you want high settings in most games then you have to get 1060 GPU which can be tricky to find a decent model below 5k. Can try out Level51 W15 Lite with i5 8400

Those issues are mainly related to firmware/BIOS which isn't a bad problem IMO. I believe that it just that TongFang is a relatively new ODM. The build quality and cooling are good.
