Hi guys, need some advice for the following

1. Preferred brand : Any
2. Budget : Around 3.5k and below
3. Usage : Photoshop/simple gaming/spreadsheet/movies
4. Screen Size : 14"-15"
5. Other requirements :Below 2kg (looking for light laptop), at least MX150 and i5

Listed the following models:

1. Acer Swift 3 SF314-54G-50N9 14" (i5-8250U, 4GB, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD, MX150)
2. Asus Vivobook S15 S510U-NBQ350T 15.6" (i5-8250u, 4GB, 1TB+256GB, MX150)
3. Asus Zenbook UX430U-NGV176T 14"(i5-8250U, 8GB, 256GB, MX150) - only have Rose Gold colour?
4. HP Pavilion 15-ck063TX 15.6" (i5-8250U, 4GB, 1TB, NV MX150)

Any other recommendations or which of the above models do u all recommend?

Thanks!!
*
Go for UX430UN. Just keep in mind that the cooling isn't that great. Also the 25W MX150 will throttle to 10W MX150 level performance

Hmm  hmm.gif , can give any insight into why you would choose the Zenbook over the other models (other than the weight factor)? How is the cooling like for the others and does MX150 experience throttling on the others as well?
*
Good overall quality (not 'excellent' yet): Display quality, build quality, battery life

The cooling is quite bad tbh, however some CPU and GPU undervolting should help. MX150 inside it is a standard 25W variant but can't perform fully, performance around MX150 10W and MX150 25W. Cooling inside most Asus laptops are mediocre-OKish

normal laptops , normal browsing.
No preferred brand or screen size.
no need ssd, if have is better.
Budget around 2.5k - 3k

Acer Swift 3 14 (SF314-54) or Lenovo Ideapad 320s 15, both need RAM upgrade. Dell Inspiron 7472 if you don't mind the small battery

If you don't need much performance, go for UX430UA (i3)

Hi! I'm currently eyeing on Acer Swift 5, Acer Swift 3, HP Pavilion 15-ck063TX as well as HP Envy 13.  My usage is mainly academic stuff (i.e: microsoft office, surfing) and also for entertainment purposes (movies, youtube).

my budget is around 3k.  out of these 4 choices which would be the best choice? in terms of the performance & durability?
*
Asus UX430UA (i3)

If you want durability go for mid-high end range business laptops

Considering an ultra book with matte screen as I do quite a bit of PDF reading. Able to decently run lightroom will be good too, heavy usage I have my desktop.
Weight <1.5kg

Lenovo 720s intel 8th gen a good option? Not a lot of stores carrying it seems. Don't want AMD version.

Hi sifus

I have shortlisted the following laptops for my usage mostly typing and web surfing, circa 3k.

Acer swift 5
Asus vivo s14
Hp envy 13 https://www.lazada.com.my/products/hp-envy-...0180604131823:s

Pls advise the pros and cons and which is the best choice. Prefer good screen and keyboard.

Preferred display size? Any other special requirements? What do you mean by 'circa 3k'?

Avoid Vivobooks, overall mediocre. IMO an i3 ULV should be fine for your usage

below < 1.5KG
touchscreen (not a must but preferably)
with BUILT-in numpad (it's a must, I'm a data entry clerk, crunch a lot of nos and accept no external numpad..)

Looking at LG Gram 5 but cannot get hold of it in Malaysia, any alternative?
*
If you want numpad then the laptop should be 15.6 inch. Unfortunately almost every 15.6 inch laptop has >1.5kg. Consider bump up max weight

Hi Guys, in term of HP Spectre x360 and HP Spectre 13 , which one is better?
I don't need the 360 function of x360 and actually much prefer the slim HP Spectre 13.
However , is there a difference in term of performance?
I am looking at both x360 13 ae090TU and 13-af089TU
*
Spectre x360 13 has better battery life and slightly better thermals (still below average CPU performance)
