Heard that this china manufacturer brand Thunderobot laptop easily got overheat problem, is that true? Or should I just go for Lenovo y520 better?
*
Brand doesn't matter. Thunderobot sells custom laptops like Clevo and Quanta. 911 SE is based on N850HK1 which runs very hot

Ideapad 320s 14/15, Acer Aspire 5 with 8550U+IPS+SSD, Lenovo Yoga 520 with 8250U. All need RAM and SSD upgrades except for Aspire 5 i7 model.

So it means not suitable for playing games for long hours, and cooling system is bad too?
*
Games should be OK with some undervolting, still the temps will be high. And yes the cooling design is bad despite 2 heatpipes for both CPU and GPU (seperately). Culprit? Wrong fan choice, poor airflow and design flaw

Hi all,

Please help me to find a suitable model.

1. Preferred brand : Any
2. Budget : Below 2.5k
3. Usage : normal usage(multi tasking), light gaming
4. Screen Size : below 14"

Preferred to be very light weight(below 2kg) becoz need to keep taking it out for use.
Graphic or no graphic is ok.

Thank you!!
*
You need to bump up your budget to 3k if you want dGPU for light gaming. What games you play?

You need laptop with good build quality and good battery life too

HP Pavilion line is mediocre especially build quality and battery life. The best options in 3k budget are Ideapad 320s 14/15 and Acer Aspire 5 (TN panel), both need RAM and SSD upgrades

Hi bro, I’m budgeting the cost for upgrades. do you know if the 320s M.2 is Sata or PCIe type?
Cos both have huge price gap for ssd upgrade.
Also, possible for you to recommend the ssd and ram brand ?
*
First: SATA and NVMe doesn't matter, normal users don't need NVMe drive, you won't notice significant speed difference

Good SSD are more expensive so I'll go for something cheap but still have decent 4k speeds. What's your budget on the SSD? I can help you to choose the right SSD. RAM is RAM, any brand will do, just make sure it has the same timings and frequency (this one different also OK, just to be safe)

How much SSD capacity you prefer?

Top picks for M.2 SATA SSD:
Samsung 850/860 EVO (expensive)
Crucial MX500
WD Blue 3D
Intel 545s

Oh yeah. Forgot about that. 250gb possibly?

To confirm again, you're referring to these as
1. To replace the HDD
Or
2. Add the SSD in additional slot and then HDD as secondary drive

M.2 slot

Guys, any feedback for hp envy 13? Thinking to buy the ad173 model, any design flaw for this model?
*
Besides the mediocre cooling (which is normal for such small laptop), no major flaws. You can check NBC review to know its cons

Your budget is tight for AutoCAD. Ideapad 320s 14/15 with 8250U, 52Wh battery and IPS panel should be OK, just need to add RAM and SSD (15 inch model has SSD)

already read lot of review. makin pening

Build quality: equally good, Swift 5 is slightly better
Battery life: Swift 3 15=Spin 5 13>Swift 5
Portability: Swift 5>Spin 5 13>Swift 3 15
Display: Spin 5 13>Swift 5>Swift 3 15
Cooling (important for KBL-R CPU performance): Swift 3 15>Spin 5 13>Swift 5 (Spin 5 13 and Swift 5 have kinda mediocre cooling)
Input devices: equally good

Anything else you want to know?

It really depends on your needs

More info: Swift 3 15 comes with optional 25W MX150 GPU. Spin 5 13 is a 2 in 1. Swift 5 display is touch enabled.

If you want best cooling and build quality in this price range, Dell G7. Practically the same with 7577

More powerful CPU, better colour options (no gamery red), use SSHD instead of HDD. That's all I think
