My go-to Apple technician (not affiliated to any Apple resellers) told me that for the programme, the Apple hardware test will determine if the battery life is up to 20 per cent only will they decide to exchange the battery for you.

RM129 plus long queues is not worth it since my battery life is not as affected that badly. OEM batteries cost RM180 to RM191 and it can be done in half an hour to an hour's time.

I waited an hour to find that out at a reseller store. So save your time and headache and just get an OEM battery for less time and less money.

I thought if you’re paying for the battery then they’ll have to change it regardless of the diagnostic test results?

I thought so too but my Apple technicians says otherwise

contrary to my findings, I called mac city service center they say just send in the phone, no diagnosis needed... but they warned me for the long queue...

Maybe it is so for Mac City.

lol. looks like a con case to me. if you willing to fork out rm129, they have to replace for you.
they is no oem battery on the market, just clone china made batteries. please be clear on what oem actually means before commenting.

I was a tech writer for two years so I do know what OEM means. Also, I checked it with the Apple technician in KL and another Apple technician in Perak. One quoted RM180 for half an hour's job and another one for RM191 for an hour's job.

And if you think the reseller is a con case...it was Mac City FYI.

So, unless you are Tim Cook, I think you shouldn't be so snarky and self-righteous about what's OEM and what's a con case.
