Hi all,

Anyone went for battery replacement recently?
Recently my friend went and was offered to change a new unit at RM399 due to his battery swollen. The staff told him this is the new revised price since a week ago.
When I went in August, it was still RM199.

Just want to clarify if the RM399 is legit.

I went to change my iphone x battery at midvalley this morning and they mention that as I am still under warranty, they will send to Apple to change for the battery ( 7 workings day). My battery health is at 93% and the staff still told that it is FOC.

Guys,

I experienced the same thing today, machines told me that my ip6 batter is swollen and apple dont allowed them to change a swollen battery. They can only 1-1 new ip6 exchane with price 399, damn expensive.. my phone just worth 500 and i need to pay 399 to fix the battery?

all this battery swollen thing, i’m a bit sceptical. there’s so many cases, wondering if it is the real case or some of the premium resellers out to make a quick bucks.

When it was RM199 back then it would be worth it, but yeah, RM399 for an iPhone 6 would be rather high. Did you ask them to show you the swollen battery as proof? smile.gif

Why they quoted you RM399? I was quoted RM199 for phone replacement which is an ip6 too around 2 months ago.

Which Machines you went?

So, today my friend went to the Northpoint Machines center and the technician did not diagnose any swollen battery. So ended up, he just paid for RM129 for the battery replacement.
Now I am quite sceptical about Curves Machines technicians... hmm.gif

Yeah, seems a bit fishy, like bro Mackiddo commented below: -

Maybe it's time to bring your phones to other service centres

it is part of battery degradation. FOC only if your battery drop to 80% or lower within the warranty period.
