Final thoughts
This F800 Pro is the new King of the Beast with improved ADAS functions from the F770 to be more accurate and cloud functions. Never regretted getting this F800 Pro.

Favorite feature is the new is the Front Vehicle Departure Warning (FVDW).

The Safety Camera Alert feature is coming to Malaysia very soon. Can’t wait.

Yeah, video quality does look so so for a flagship. Why?
*
F800 Pro is RM2299 with 16GB & installations. I upgraded to 64GB for extra RM250.

Actually, the video quality of the F800 Pro is not one of the best in the world. Hopefully, this will improve in the later firmware.

Personally, I think the F770 video quality is better as it's more stable as it's a 2 years old model than the recently released F800 series. Viofo A119/A119S also has good video quality.

But don't judge the F800 Pro based on the video quality alone.

Thinkware also has one of the best automatic parking modes which Korean dashcams are famous for. Improved ADAS features which are more accurate than the F770 and Cloud functions which are coming to Malaysia next year.

The F800 Pro has Sony Starvis IMX291 sensor on both front and back cameras which is one of the factors that I put some considerations into also when upgrading from my Viofo A119S which also uses Sony Starvis IMX291 sensor.

safety camera alert feature is the geo fencing?
do they provide installation at Penang? thanks.
*
Safety camera alert and geo-fencing are 2 different features.

I don't think they have installers in Penang yet. But if you're the DIY type, it takes about an hour to a few hours to install.

bro the rear camera is the same as the front?? the rear camera video quality look really bad...
*
Both are 1080p using Sony Starvis sensor. Anyway, I think the angle of the rear windscreen will also play as a factor.

i agree, particularly at night. seems xiaomi one is better. but day quality is comparable. thats nice.
*
I think now lies with the firmware updates and hopefully, Thinkware can get it to F770's level of quality. But I think the Sony Starvis might be hard to fine tune.

price is expensive and quality not that very satisfy.
can't see the car plate number clearly especially at night; only when so close only can be see.
also the fps 30 only which is not enough!
still action camera is better.
so far i can't find "really" good quality car recorder in the market.
iroad tx9 is just good enough there way i see because of the resolution but size to copy is too big but still better than this high end f800 pro and cheaper too.

i might be wrong as probably ok to view on mobile but not on youtube sad.gif
*
Actually, most dashcams can't see more than 5m in front at night while driving. Usually, if an accident happens will slow down then can see clearly.

Action cam doesn't have auto parking mode, ADAS features, built-in GPS, Cloud, etc like on the F800 Pro sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

For iRoad TX9, the file size is not that big but the only problem is the JDR proprietary file format which you need to use iRoad software/app to decode to play. I got encountered some issues with my TX9 review FYI.

Also, for 30fps vs 60fps, if it is too dark for 60fps the camera will automatically change to 30fps and if it is bright enough for 60fps then it will automatically use 1/60th-second exposure or faster even if set to 30fps. The amount of motion blur within the video frames is normally identical.

So the only real differences are smoother playback in bright conditions, twice as many frames so that you have more chance of catching things that move very fast and fewer minutes of storage space on your memory card, typically around 30% less.

This is why some dashcam manufacturers are going back to 30fps instead of using 60fps.

So which dashcam are you using now? iRoad TX9 or an action cam?

Guys, did any one of you get the cloud locate function to work?

On android / ios app either app also can't locate vehicle. GPS location is locked and I even tried creating a new account in each app.

Mine is working fine...

How are you connecting top your F800 Pro? WiFi or HotSpot?

Both ios and android using phone's own hotspot. I honestly dont know what i am doing wrong. The dashcam says I am connected to the internet, and GPS signal is also locked. But somehow cant locate the vehicle in the cloud.

Which hotspot is your dashcam connected to?

Mine is connected to hotspot on my S9+.

blurjoey I'm eye-ing on this dash camera. Based on your review, the video bit rate about 12MB/s. The new Sandisk high endurance is V30 (>30 MBps), this should work?
*
I know the Samsung Evo Plus 128GB can be used in the F800 as the write speed is at 90mb/s....
