Can anyone with the Sharp LC-UA6800X TV please share with us how was your experience with the TV's androidTV? Navigating through the OS is smooth enough for you that you do not need another androidTV device plugged to the TV, say the Mibox AndroidTV? What about update? Does the TV received Oreo update yet?

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Aug 15 2018, 07:04 PM)

android 7.0, no sign of upgrade to 8... actually i will not want it... becos i find 7 to be very stable, few problems.

i use this tv's androidtv... and 2 other android boxes attached to it. biggrin.gif
the tv's androidtv is smooth, no problem.
i like it, use it for just a couple of apps... for live int'l news, iptv.
becos that way, i need not turn on my other boxes, AVR... save on TNB bill. tongue.gif
but i do not install big or complex apps on it, even if if know they will work, e.g.KODI.
those, i prefer to do with my other boxes.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Do you have any idea in what soc is used in the tv? Also, nougat on the tv have access to 'recent apps' or 'app switcher'?

Avfan, do you use netflix? I am asking because in my tv native app, some of the netflix shows like A Series of Unfortunate Event, Daredevil and some other only tagged as HDR, where as those shows are tagged as 4k UHD if access from Mibox androidtv. Other series like Breaking Bad is 4k UHD in both the TV native and Mibox. I am using lc6800 also by the way, the 45inch model.

To put it simply, HDR is definitely 4K, while 4K is not necessarily HDR.

Wait, did I confuse you?

Err... I think in netflix, the 4k UHD tagged shows is definiteltly with hdr, while hdr tagged shows may be in hd only with hdr, at least I can see the hdr tagged shows are less sharper compare to playing with mibox where the same shows are tagged as 4k uhd.

Edit: nevermind, i think both u n voncrane are correct. Mibix is the crappier ones haha

Before your edit, FHD comes with HDR?

Hence what I concluded earlier.

Streaming from native tv, although i notice the hdr effect, the video seems to be less sharper, hence why i mistakenly assumed that it is in fhd lol. I may need to let the video run a bit longer to see if it makes any difference.

From quick google, mibox supposedly support netflix hdr, one guy with same issue solved it by changing the hdmi port setting to auto from his previous setting which was gaming mode. Our tv does not have auto setting i guess? I tried other mode (dynamic etc), still no hdr. I guess my mibox is just crap, or could still be user problem haha..

Anyway u guys know how to set the tv androidtv home as the default screen after switch on?

Anyone encounter no voice when stream video from plex? I downloaded a few 4k videos and stored those videos in my plex server. Streaming using plex client from mibox androidtv is ok, but unfortunately no HDR which I still not sure why (similar to streaming from Netflix). But when I tried to stream using plex client with the TV androidTV, no voice was heard, although the background sound from the video is normal, which is quite weird. This happened to 3 out of 4 4k videos that I downloaded.
