For the HDMI ARC, it simply means i can use back the single HDMI connection from my AVR to the TV and it passes sound back using that same connection, so there is no extra cables. Although i have TOSLINK cables lying around, i would prefer not to have another cable...the amount of cables behind the TV rack is a nightmare....

Frankly, i don't use the Androidbox already eversince MyPadTV can use web browser to watch from PC. Last time use the Android box for some other service which can't use Windows.

Mainly use HTPC for Netflix, web browser k dramas, popcorn time , mypadtv, youtube. As long i can watch all this from the new Android TV, my HTPC can tarpao...but of course, the HTPC still have advantage of Window's fantastic browsing/multitasking which Android can't do. I have a habit of half screen browser and half screen Netflix sometimes (or two browser side by side), but i guess it's not really critical and i can live without it.

Yeah, popcorn time might have problem due to the bit torrenting and storage usage. If that fails, i will have to download first from my other PCs.

Btw, how long to boot up the TV usually in seconds? My HTPC with SSD boot up very fast....faster than the internet connections to get ready!

Unfortunately for me, seller called me saying the LC60 is out of stock and have to wait until end of April.
So I had to cancel the order.
I went and bought a Sony KD55X7000F instead. Heard the android version is laggy so avoided X7500F. 

1. Setup was pretty easy, it ask me to connect to my Android phone using the Google Home app. But i ran into a problem, the TV doesn't detect my Wifi 5Ghz while my phone is on the 5Ghz Wifi, so it can't connect. I discovered that it only accepts pure AC (previously broadcasting as mix Ac/N )...my Nintendo Switch also have this problem. So either you change to use the Wifi 2.4Ghz for your phone or reconfigure the router to broadcast 5Ghz as AC only. I chose the latter.

Works fine. Tested some 4K and HDRs demos. 4K videos seems to work fine. Tested some 8K/8K with HDR movies - this will shows some lags/stutter frequently. But considering that even my HTPC doesn't really play 8k smoothly (if i remember correctly), i think it is a wonder this Android TV can even play 8K movie at all!

I have only 1 main problem is actually not with the TV, but my RX-V475 AVR. There is a delay in sound, can see the lip not sync and lag behind a bit. When using TV internal speaker, no such issues. I guess i must spend some time to configure my AVR to compensate the delay, if there is such functions.

1.  When start up, the screen shows blank, seems like no response. It seems to show the home screen a few seconds  later only after i have pressed the "Home" button? Is this normal? Or i have to just wait for home screen to appear?

2. For the DTV, why is it keeps showing me one Radio channel by default? Can i change this?

3. How to hide the cursor? Currently i can only move it to the side, but it still shows the tip a bit. I think it's caused by my K400 plus. Do you guys sees a cursor?

1. i think the The 5Ghz is not about strong. My router is sitting right next to it. Once i change it to dedicated AC (instead of mixed ac/n) and also lower channel to 40, it works (much like my Nintendo Switch).
2. Is there anyway to solve the hdmi arc-cec issue? Because it is the TV playing the video...i have googled and seems like a lot of people have similar issues on various TVs and AVRs.
3. I have no issues scanning the DTV, in fact the first thing the setup did was scan all the digital and analog channels automatically. I am using a centralized dish in my Condo, so no need any external antenna. First thing that greets me last night on my new TV was Tun M talking on RMT1 or RTM2. What i meant about the DTV is, is there a way to preset channels, say TV3, TV8 on the Android TV homescreen? Currently, it always default to some FM channels. Can i add preset channels and fill it horizontally?

Tested with the original HDMI cable that came with PS4 (which can do HDR directly to the TV), still the same with the delay.

With the current HDMI ARC settings, i can only passback PCM sound (not even bitstream DD, doesn't works, the AVR don't recognize).

So no choice, have to dig out my optical cable from the storeroom.
1. NETFLIX - solved synced problem by passing Bitstream and get Dolby Digital (no DD Plus).
2. Other apps like MyPadTV - i think it is almost same as internal speaker, way better than before (which was like a foreign language dub). But i still have a slight feeling it is like maybe a small delay persist.

So in general it solves my problem. I only need DD from Netflix, rest apps and DTV only have stereo at best.

Another thing i noticed when using internal speaker, by default surround sound is on....i feels very disconnected as the sound seems to comes from around the TV....bottom, left, right...but not from the characters in the TV..also when using surround, again i notice maybe there is like 10-20ms additional delay to the audio. I don't know, maybe i am sensitive. After turning off the surround, it is much better and i can feel the characters talking and the slight delay before is gone.

Nope. I turned off my AVR when doing the TV surround testing. In fact, no i permanently turn off the HDMI-CEC, will only need to turn it on if want better sound when watching Netflix.

Can get the 4tc60al1x for 2930 in PJ. And with the 300 ringgit Petronas card, seems like a good deal, no?

Honestly dont see point of 8k model....unless you need like over 80 inch TV. Contents also dont have...seems pointless for now. Better to make newer Androids TV with faster processors, bigger storage, Aquamotion, HDR 2.1 with eArc and Dolby Atmos, local dimming and maybe OLED. Sharp dont have OLED right?

Although there are home contents for 8K, commercial contents won't be coming anytime soon. Even 4k contents is so little. This morning i tried going in front of TV to check pixels when playing 4K videos, i can't see any jaggies or square pixels at all. Much less sitting 8  feet away. Even if it does cascade down to smaller TVs, IMO, it is pointless and just a marketing gimmick to sell TVs. You really don't need it coz you won't be able to see the difference anyway (unless you got bionic eyes, maybe can..  )

I agree with you that TV makers should not focus on Audio, but given the trends, they should at least make it easy for people to passthrough Dolby Atmos or whatever new sound encoding format to the AVR. Because built in Smart/Android TV will be a standard thing. In fact, i don't think you can find dumb TV anymore short of some no name China brand from TESCO.

One question on shutting down the TV. I press the power button to put TV off/standby and then turn off my main power. Is this ok? Because i would assume i need to proper shutdown the Android, but the screen doesn't shows anything, so i don't know if it has been proper shutdown before i turn off the power.

But my TV needs to be turned off when nobody is at home. Basically, i just powered down the main switch which connects to everything including modem and router.

There is also a "Quick Start" option. The description says turning it ON use a little more power. What does it do actually?

Hi, I just bought a sharp LC-50UA6800X
2 days ago. After install some apps, my tv got issue where it auto turn on and off. It take about 10 sec only after on to off.. And it on again.. Is anyone facing same issue? I did tried to hard reset but not sure what is the correct way. Please help me...

Hi, my friend has an al1x and I managed to install unifi playtv (via apk) but sadly I couldn’t navigate Unifi PlayTv interface either using mouse or remote control. Mouse seemed to be clicking on different area. Also, even if I managed to click on a channel, the stream would not start (it just display the first frame).

I have an older UE630X and still managed to navigate Unifi PlayTv using combination of mouse and remote control.

Another general question on Sharp 4K Tv. I couldn’t seem to get Kodi or SPMC to run in 4K mode, be it the GUI or watching video.

Hope for some advise from experts here
