Avfan, do you use netflix? I am asking because in my tv native app, some of the netflix shows like A Series of Unfortunate Event,  Daredevil and some other only tagged as HDR, where as those shows are tagged as 4k UHD if access from Mibox androidtv. Other series like Breaking Bad is 4k UHD in both the TV native and Mibox. I am using lc6800 also by the way, the 45inch model.

On the other hand, Netflix's playback is nice and all. It's still compressed video for streaming purposes and as such, is not directly comparable to playing the proper Blu-ray content. Blu-ray's PQ & AQ remains superior. So if you are used to that, I can see how you'd think Netflix's is less sharp.

Streaming from native tv, although i notice the hdr effect, the video seems to be less sharper, hence why i mistakenly assumed that it is in fhd lol. I may need to let the video run a bit longer to see if it makes any difference.

From quick google, mibox supposedly support netflix hdr, one guy with same issue solved it by changing the hdmi port setting to auto from his previous setting which was gaming mode. Our tv does not have auto setting i guess?  I tried other mode (dynamic etc), still no hdr. I guess my mibox is just crap, or could still be user problem haha..

Anyway u guys know how to set the tv androidtv home as the default screen after switch on?

Hi, proud owners of LC50UA6800X,

I hope someone here can help a fellow new owner of LC50UA6800X.

Bought the TV and very happy with it.
The only problem that I'm facing is that every each time I try to do a Network firmware update (OTA), I kept getting the "cannot connect to network" msg.
And that's why I'm unable to start Netflix.

I have tried to search for the latest firmware (30800_20181205) over the Sharp Download websites but have failed to find it.

I wonder if someone here might have the firmware (30800_20181205) file so he/she can share the download link.

Contacted the sharp customer hotline of my city (Riyadh, KSA).
Explained the problem.
Case registered.
Engineer/Technician will visit in 3 to 5 days.

I guess the audio problem pass through is that hissing annoying sound? I fixed it by turning it off few seconds and turning it on again.

How was the wow factor moving from 49 to a 60 inch? The quality of of the sharp models are the same?

Because my nvidia shield(for kodi stuffs) is otw, so I might not need the smart tv function

If we're talking sources here, because the other day I think I got spoilt already by my friend's oppo bluray 4k player when he brings over to my house, we watched how to train your dragon 2 - never knew there seemed to be details I missed! 4k hdr - even on my crappy LG.

Hence the reason I'm surveying new options here, collecting them AV stuffs bit by bit

Ok, so here is the update.

While waiting for the Sharp tech to come to my home I registered my complaint using Sharp world support page.

After two days, still waiting for the Sharp tech guy, I received an email from Sharp MEA.
In the email explained the procedure on how to update the TV using USB and the Google Drive link to the latest firmware update "THEA_UA6800X_30700". 
In the email, it says that "THEA_UA6800X_30700" package is the latest one. (Can you guys confirm that)
But, my TV is asking for "30800_20181205"
Anywayz I have emailed them the snapshot which shows the current and latest version info.

Still waiting for the Sharp tech guyz ....
After two more days of wait, they finally came.
The standard check is done by them and the conclusion is that they will contact the IT guy from another city who will send them the file and Bla Bla Bla ... will take 3 to 6 dayz    .

Before I manually update to "THEA_UA6800X_30700" package, can someone confirm from their TV that this "THEA_UA6800X_30700" IS the latest update package?

Saw the 60 inch 6800x priced at rm3k with  2 year warranty. Tempted but then read that there is a replacement 4TC60AL1X for 2019 but cannot find the price. Anyone know the price? Specs mostly the same. still edge lit. Thanks.

Yup, it comes with android 8.0 out of box. I looked at the 70inch one

However i compare it side by side with 6500 & 6800, with same video source, strangely thou al1x looks better. I guess it uses different processing making the image look better

Hi guys, just wondering if any of you been having issues with RSS player accessing icdrama link? I haven’t been able to load anything for the past few days, Basically able to see only the menu list but nothing comes up when accessing those sub menus like Tvb, Korean drama, Anime etc. Appreciate if any sifu here can advise. Thank you for pointing out bro. Apologies for not stating earlier. I’m running rss icdrama androidtv v1.0.0 on Sharp LC50UA6800X. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstall it again, able to enter those sub menus under RSS link but unable to play the links. Attached is a sample photo

You missed the biggest difference which is 50 al1x has direct backlight vs edge for 50ua6800.  It perhaps will contribute to better picture quality. But strangely only the 50 inch has direct backlight in the new al1x series. All the other sizes is still edge backlight.
