for ua6800x, i think explanation may be due to the android7 units launched here initially did not come with an approved browser (need sideload).
netflix is there, so stick on netflix on the remote! biggrin.gif
with android8 uodate, it comes with a proposed puffin tv/browser.

ua6500x, it is not androidtv... but isn't there a default web browser built in?
have u tried restarting android under settings-about?

are u on unifi or maxis or time?
*
Yes,restart arround 4-5 times.
This month I shift to TIME,but even TIME I can see my wifi 2.4 and 5 GHz in previous Android 7.
All other devices works ok with wifi 5GHz.

Edit:
Even 2.4Ghz TV hardly accept, but do.
5GHz has been named before "not in range",but I clean and after did not appear.

this is strange.

i haven't exp any of my devices unable to get 5ghz.

the only exception is when distance is too far away, signal too weak, auto falls to 2.4ghz.

LAN?

then wifi, 2.4, 5ghz is irrelevant, meaningless!

unplug the cable, use wifi, see u get 5ghz or not!

got mine updated yesterday. So far so good, didn't get a chance to test it extensively though.

Anyway, I was testing a 4k video for the very first time with VLC stream over a NAS drive. I am not sure but it seems like the movie tend to jerk abit every now and then. Normal 1080p and netflix 4k were silky smooth. I am on LAN 100mbps. I suspect the HDD read speed is slow? Anyone here face the same prb?

Found the root cause of the remote voice search not working. For what ever reason, tt was not paired according to the new Oreo OS after install. It is now back to normal!

Just received the TV today, I can't seem to get HDMI cec to work with my Yamaha receiver. Do I need to run another separate HDMI cable to the receiver?

It was working before with my Panasonic tv

Experienced the same like some of you. 5Ghz WIFI out of range. (Prior firmware update can connect with almost full bar).

Apparently there are some issue with this release.

My setup currently is using
A single HDMI cable from my Yamaha A830 AV receiver to the TV.

Other equipments are connected to the AV receiver via HDMI.

I can't turn on/off the AV receiver with the TV and the audio return from the TV is also not going to the AV receiver. Ie. If viewing YouTube on the TV, the audio isn't being channeled to the AV Receiver.

HDMI Cec is both Turner on for the TV and AV receiver.

So,I am not alone.
Already few users reported same issue.
Why Sharp didn't posting files on web page (so I can flash back to Android 7) ?

single hdmi cable to tv.. this hdmi cable will send video to tv only.

afaik, to get hdmi ARC, u use another HDMI tv->AVR, set it correctly.

can't remember too well, but I think hdmi 1 or 2 can do it.

so, yes, u need to use another hdmi cable, do the settings right.

alternatively, save hdmi cable... use toslink optical cable tv->AVR.

result is the same - tv is rated DOLBY DIGITAL only.

please read e-manual again... all is explained there.

in the mibox (which runs on androidtv as well) thread, some users have complained about the same.

looks like this android8 has its share of bugs.

Ok I got the HDMI power control syncl to work after unplugging every device connected to the AV receiver and found the offending culprit to break the communication, the Himedia android box. Once I removed it, everything is working fine.

Will connect the TOS link from the TV to the AV receiver for ARC, I did read the e manual but did not find the requirement for TOS link mentioned or maybe I misunderstood the diagram.

yes, HDMI arc can be messed up by some devices... hyppbox is another common culprit.

android boxes, i wudn't know which cause or dun cause ARC issue.

i use optical output, all is good, whether tv android apps or ext devices input direct to tv.
