I'm also one of those who prefer hotels to AirBnBs. Anyway I just wanted to add that during my last trip to Kyoto and Osaka, I stayed in hotels that come with cooking facilities in the room. I'm not sure if such hotels are available in Tokyo but worth a look I reckon.
