Will b staying in yamagata this 25 n 26 for zao ice monster, if the volcano eruption decide to pay a visit tat time, any near by places recommend? Mogami river?

Reporting fr yamadera, u need crampons if u plan to go up the temple top. Steps were cover with ice, going up may not be a problem but not for going down. I end up sliding all d way down on most stairs. 2 of my friends did not went up, but it is fun anyway, me n 3 taiwanese girls helping each other to go up. N best part, its queit funny seeing other fell down😂
