Do you have any experience staying at Hotel Park Side Tokyo at Ueno?

Just came back yesterday from a 2.5 weeks solo trip to Tohoku. The autumn foliage was amazing. The places in Tohoku region were so peaceful and scenic.

Pics below taken at Tsutanuma, purposely wake up at 3.30am and drive in the dark to witness this amazing sunrise scenery, they call it the 蔦沼 朝燒 aka The Morning Burning of Tsutanuma.

This beautiful place often appears in commercials and nature programs on TV. The first and the second photos show the scenery early in the morning. The surface of the mountains is illuminated in a burning red color from the morning sun. This scenery can only be seen for a moment when the sunshine in the morning behind the mountains comes up and lights up the red leaves and trees. When the sun goes high, the color gradually changes to yellow or a pale red.

You'll have to check carefully whether their bath is really natural spring water or just hot water  , especially those in Takayama town. And don't expect the price to be cheap..

Alternatively, on the way to Shin-Hotaka ropeway, there are a lot of onsen resorts which you could opt for a night stay. There are also day-use baths open to the public

I stayed in Hodakaso Sanganoyu last time (nearby Hirayu Onsen bus-stop). RM700/night with half-boards for 2 ppl.

Free? really? I thought local still have to pay a little bit of money to take bath.

I think.... I am fine..... with naked. Just that my mindset must be set it right.  Not sure whether there is such onsen privately outside with my and my wife together or not. But I believe it will not be cheap, because it's "private"

Then can hear each other just like in Animation.

Me and my whole family thought we were hearing things when we left Kawaguchiko back to Tokyo and there was a stretch of road that had something like a farewell music coming out from it.

No matter how hot Japan is, it couldn't be hotter than Malaysia. I guess..

Peak of summer should be end of July, August?
My friend was there during end of June this year and he mentioned it was not too bad.

Probably those who had been to Tokyo in July can share their experience. Friend was in Kyoto 2 years ago in July and she said no more, never again.

I was in Tokyo in September and it was still really hot. Imo the sun is blazing hot over there. In Malaysia we barely move around with public transportation or do long walks outdoor for sight seeing. We drive from Point A to B and find the nearest parking. Then we hide in shopping malls to escape the heat.

But if you're in Japan during summer it's a different story... have to remember need to bear with the heat as you look for the Hotel/ AirBnB upon arrival, tough out the crowd in the heat, sight seeing done under the hot sun (for temples, outdoor activities etc). And places with A/C will be more crowded than usual too.

As long as the expectation is managed among those travelling, that's okay. Otherwise friends who tagged along not knowing how bad the heat is going to hit them, will be complaining from Day 1 to Day 7; that's the last thing anyone ever need.

Can i check in baggage if i buy alcohol from japan?

During my study in Japan, i stay in guesthouse(ryokan) near ski resort during winter.
The owner always prepare breakfast and dinner for guests.
From my observation, Japanese tends to bath before dinner.
Therefore we (Malaysian who uncomfortable to see other people's private item) eat dinner first and then later go to bath (onsen).
One hour before closing time is the best time.

Just sharing my experience with you guys.

Guys, need some advice. Can we use our Malaysian Credit Card to purchase Disneyland Tokyo tickets through the official Disney Tokyo website ? No matter what credit card i use, it seems to say "credit card no authorize".
